Common theme in this thread seems to be not only how stuff has disappeared, but how stuff that's still available tastes nothing whatsoever like the original. Seems there was a lot to be said for salt/sugar/chemicals, which have become seriously un-PC these days

Smoking won't have helped either, I still remember my first taste of Tatyo crisps a good while after giving them (cigs) up - I thought my tongue would fall out with the sharpness of the taste, the auld buds having been dulled by about 20 years of the evil fags :eek:

Oh my god toffos! I had completely forgotten that they ever existed! The guaranteed thing my dad would always buy in the shop for us! We used to have competitions to see who could make one last the longest! We were such saddos! Also my sister and I were only talking the other day about cadburys dream bars. We fooking loved them! Also loads of the cheapo sticky bars like lanky larrys. And mr long ice pops and supertwisters!
