Opel Scrappage

Hi

I have seen advertising for Opel in the last few days offering scrappage deals of "Up to" 5000 euro.

I am interested in trading in my existing cars, but am wondering how this (and the current Nissan) offer are any different to a normal trade-in scenario.

The "up to" implies the dealer will value the car and offer a price "up to" the maximum scrappage amount. Is this not simply what happens in a normal trade in.

My car would not be worth 5,000 euro so a scrappage offer would be ideal, but this does not appear to be what is on offer, or does anyone know if there are additional bonuses I am not aware of.

I'd say you'll only get 5k if you are buying the absolute top of the range Opel.

If buying a Corsa, except more like 1.5k - 2k.

Thanks bazz26, yes I did read the scrappage terms and conditions, however they did not answer my question - whether once the car is nct'ed and taxed (as stated in the T&Cs) and roadworthy the dealer will give the actual quoted scappage allowance or only what he/she considers to be the actual trade-in value of the car.

Thanks Henry Ford III, asking the dealer is the next port of call.
