If you need to postpone an individual game in a match, do you wait until that match has been played to submit the scorecard, or do you put it as something else?

You can return the result as Adjourned on the main scoresheet and then later you can submit the individual board result to update for the result

    Sorry guys,

It is still my understanding that adjournments are not allowed. All games must be played by the agreed date. The only exceptions are where agreed with the controller in advance which I would take to mean where a death or something of that nature has occurred.

The problem over the years has been teams abusing this where they have not had players available on the day. Some of us play the match on the agreed date or in advance irrespective of who is or isn't available.

Seems a little bit harsh Mark. No flexibility at all?

    That's what the rules say.

In practice, controllers are flexible provided it's rare, which it is.

I took it as read in the OP that controller permission had been granted, so it wasn't a factor.

You only have to play 1 game every three weeks approx. The fixture list is up from late August/Early September. If teams were given flexability like in the old days games matches would never be finished. Its easy to play games early as I find most teams to be very accomadating. It susually the players who do not look at the fixture list and find the day before the match something more important has come up. It why we have subs

Subs are a last option surely?
