He's entered in the Grand National. Second fav in most lists. Looks like they're swerving Cheltenham for Aintree.

Won't win QM or WH, will win CH and has an outside chance in GC with Djakadam. One I'd guess

I actually think Champagne fever is NAP of festival for QM. I think there is no depth to the race whatsoever and will probably barrel load on before the 6'd disappears.
I've built up my antepost portfolio now
And will probably wait until the day for the rest
    Supreme - shaneshill
JLT - Apache stronghold and close touch EW
Neptune - Value at risk (won't go there now)
    QM - Champagne Fever
    RSA - Don Poli
    World hurdle - Beat That
    Ryanair - Cue Card
Albert Bartlett - native river EW
Gold Cup - Coneygree and Carlingford lough at nice prices

Had a look at last years gold cup last night and teaforthree was bang there two out. Is without doubt a class above these has also won the 4 miler at the festival.
Will have jamie Codd aboard and I think 4/1 is a very fair price

Only 4th today, will they risk it again to try get into the festival risking burn out a rushed prep etc or hold out for the National

Needs to finish in the top 2 in a Hunter Chase I think before the 28th.

My Nap of the festival Paint The Clouds looks even stronger. He should make his seasonal reappearance on Tuesday or Wednesday this week.

You really like the winners of that Champion Hunter chase at Stratford!

On what evidence is he a grade 1 2 mile chaser? I am aghast at how he's the price he is.

There was a feature on him in RP during the week. Trainer seems confident anyway

Noel Meade was interviewed earlier today and said Bryan Cooper was over to do a bit of work on Very Wood and worked with Apache Stronghold and Texas Jack a week or 2 back and looked very good and they think he's getting back to himself, Bryan Cooper rang him the other day and said he was choosing him over Thunder and roses and was excited by the feel the horse gave him,but Meade warned about the ground tomorrow if there's more rain.

5/1 could look a big price this time tomorrow but i think i'll sit back and see how he goes after 2 pulled up efforts and hope he shows he's still got ability.

Didn't know about that. Doubt there is anywhere to access it online?

I'm ridiculously confident. Think it's just a case of him jumping around. Would strongly advise taking the 8/1 on offer as I think he'll be about a 7/2 shot after his run next week.

I think Champagne Fever has a decent chance in the Champion Chase but I would agree his current price is very very short for what he's achieved over fences. Mind you I'm a big fan of the horse and have followed him over the last few seasons. Jumps like a stag and he can be a gutsy performer. I think he's probably had bad luck - maybe been badly campaigned and despite been a fantastic jumper has managed to throw in two horrible mistakes at Leopardstown last season and in his penultimate race. Personally I'd be leaning toward the Ryanair if he were mine but Mullins is hard to fathom.

One thing I couldn't agree with - there's no depth to the Champion Chase. My own opinion is that there's a fair bit of depth to it. It's wide open with 7 or 8 horses with very strong chances. Fair enough one or two horses have questions to answer but when does a horse running at Cheltenham not?

Don't think so unfortunately. He mentioned that owners were considering racing him outside of Hunter Chases but that he advised otherwise. 8's practically gone now. Going to follow you and back him tomorrow

Yeah he's better than a Hunter Chaser but this is the first horse Greatrex bought and he desperately wants him to be his first Cheltenham winner!

If Very Wood is back to somewhere near his best 66-1 for the RSA looks value for a 2014 festival winner. He looks like an RSA type and that race he won in Galway does throw up RSA horses (Jessie's dream and Don Cossack both won that beginners chase and were prominent in the RSA betting the following year).

Nearly sure he's going for the 4 miler along with Thunder and Roses with Don Poli going for the RSA

Ok, then it's a wait and see job or wait for the nrnb.

Wouldn't be so sure about that as Meade also has the Giggy owned Wounded Warrior who's certain to line up in 4miler. If he runs well enough tomorrow, it'd suit Meade to have him in RSA

Its very difficult to price up the Qm this year im finding. Sprinter Sacre could wind up sub 2-1 on the day, but then again he could also hit a fancy price (and therefore become unbackable in my eyes) or just not run at all. So its hard to say 11/4 is a good or bad price at the moment.

Dodging Bullets is the one they have to beat on this years evidence and is a similar price to Sire De Grugy (a horse of similar quaility in my opinion) at this time last year so its probably about right.

The above mentioned SDG had a disaster comeback after a long injury but cant be ruled out. 6-1 seems very skinny but he doesn't have a lot more question marks than the rest.

Champagne Fever is "interesting" but mostly on course form, Uxizandre has strong Cheltenham credentials too but is available at a huge price after 2 poor showings.

Mr Mole and Hidden Cyclone have good chances also but most other year would be available at much longer odds, but this is such a winnable contest you couldnt have them much longer.

I just can't see any angle

He'd be a good each way bet but you'd want to be gettingn 20/1! We'll see what the handicapper does in the next few weeks

I was hoping the job is right goes the 4miler but over hurdles today is prob to protect his mark for the irish national with crafty butcher their horse for the 4miler instead.

    Really like the following

Champagne Fever for QM (managed to get 7/1's a week or two back)
    Cue Card for Ryanair

Both have really good records, and I think both (especially the latter) are running over their best trip.

I like duke of Lucca this year so far. He will have a decent turn around with any currency in weights and similar to Balthazar is a proper decent handicapper ..

Much improved run for Briar Hill there, I think he'd have beaten Dedigout if we jumped the last.

What's the opinion on Ned Buntline for Grand Annual at 10/1? Ran a cracker in last years race, JP targets the race, he's been clearly kept for it since with a spin over hurdles when 9th over Christmas and he's recently schooled at Leopardstown with the race again confirmed as the target. He's a fine big animal, has plenty of talent, enjoys better ground and the stronger pace Cheltenham gives so with Mr Mole likely to lineup in QM, think Ned may go off much shorter than current AP price.

Definitely has to be on any shortlist but weights not out yet.
