Conor Lehane Bill Cooper Seamus Harnedy
Alan Cadogan Paudi Sullivan Patrick Horgan......???
That will be bones team I'd say

Mcdonmell out injured and o Neill just back training
Burke should get start at corner back but id say Joyce will with Cahalane and Sullivan
    Murphy Ellis McLoughlin will start
Murphy I'd say will start outstanding for ucc again
    Kearney aidan Walsh
    Lehane harnedy cooper
Cadogan luke spillane but I think cadogan luke and horgan
Kilkenny are missing up twelve lads from last year so cork have to be winning this
No such as bad team from kilkenny so while lot are out they will be very good still

    This what you heard?

Wouldn't surprise me if they tried Walsh at half-back.

Yeah Andy deserves a start but Murphy has to start imo
Challenges, Fitzgibbon cup, club, county intermediate team he been consistently excellent all through over last year has ger game

If I was facilities Andy be with Kearney provide physical presence but aidan half forward allow harnedy this game full forward with cadogan and luke allows Andy start midfield
Spillane I'd like get start but I doubt he will
I think Murphy will start as walsh won't play half back in summer so I think Murphy will start half back

I doubt if they will be many debutant and cork will I think play strong team
    Vital win home games
To stay up need win at least three avoid relegation play off probably

Spillane has been vvery poor the last two UCC games and as a result I don't expect him to be named in the starting line up.

    no Darren Mccarthy?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 417 ✭✭CORKDOUBLE

Darren McCarthy could lose out now as young Collins will be sub goalie ....who else is on the panel ? Darren McCarthy, Brian O Sullivan, Killan Burke, .......in time I would like to see Colm Spillane, Colm Barry and John Cronin involved .....with respects to him I not too sure about Lawton .......

strong team, we need to be beating KK (never easy) given the players missing through retirement\injury. happy to see Cormac Murphy at halfback. only issue would be Cronin at midfield but maybe he will be better without having to deal with the duties of being captain.

He won't be any better. Not his fault. He just can't play senior intercounty hurling. Can't understand how or why he's picked.

Strong team couple of points I thought Joyce would start full back and Cahalane to wing back not sure about him in the corner but with O'Neill just back and mac injured maybe no choice. Great to see Murphy in but loc out interesting maybe he is seeing how Walsh goes. Cronin to start on what basis maybe training not on recent form half forward line strong. Full forward line spoilt for choice with Farrell, Spillane and Moyhan in reserve. Should be strong enough to get the 2 points

Cronin last two games cit got four points and two and meant lorded the air
I hope cit make the final as more exposure he gets better in selectors give him game hopefully
Fine team overall bar one or two aera I'd picked lorchan but walsh needs games so good play him half back and he played there cork minors
Unlikely start there championship you would think be midfield
Half back line wont concede much and it's very strong in imo is a fortress physically wise but lots hurling and pace on flanks and Ellis will improve every game as growing in the role
Cork should get a foothold in the game from here

I'm normally not fan Joyce in corner, imo a better half back but given cork have two corner back injured and riche hogan inside full forward it good call
Think Joyce could be swapping Cahalane if needs be
Imo they see full back as between Cahalane and Joyce for summer as Joyce playing lot there
Real strength depth to panel also in both backs and forwards unlike last year cork have real game changers with luke and moylan and o shea etc to come in
    Very strong panel
Kilkenny named their team it's very strong consider who missing
Their full back line is their aera where they could struggle imo natural possibly when considering who left the unit

Cork must be ruthless for goals there's goal there if they go for them

The one worry I have is horgan cadogan Sullivan three similar types players, balance is off in a target man be ideal for two corners to feed off, and I think harnedy will start inside with paudie drifting out half forward floating role that suits him and cronin picked midfield primary help half forward unit as ball winner if harnedy goes inside
Cooper is good air but he needs cronin share the ball winning duties
Team imo that's picked can win and should hopefully
It won't be easy though against kilkenny but that's better for cork I'n the long run
Cooper Ellis walsh who all had fine seasons debut last year I think will even improve again hugely this year
Cadogan also in he's second year should be very good
Murphy is going to add a lot to the team
Cronin with good pre season behind him and no injures etc and not being captain I think he'll have a huge season
Full back should be sorted this year
Cork should be very strong this year

Got the SuperValu offer of €10 a ticket for this game tomorrow night...

Was thinking of taking my 4 year old down there... Will I need a seperate ticket for him or is there a free turnstile for kids or will I need to carry him in my arms through the turnstile?

Or now that tickets are so cheap will I need a ticket for him regardless?

Being honest now lads, that is the weakest KK team i've seen on paper in a long time.
When you throw the 2 Fennellys and Reid back into it, it will strengthen no doubt, but Cork would want to be getting a positive result this weekend. They have some good honest players on the team, but without the Ballyhale 3 mentioned, they will struggle.
I know we have no place to be arrogant, but anything but a win would be worrying from a cork perspective.

We know it is a long way from full strength but it is still a decent team. Cork can hardly afford to be missing any player let alone the amount KK are.

I brought my nephew last year to a number of games. There's a separate turnstile for children. You can go thru that with him. Enjoy.

All the talk on the papers about a weakened Kk team?
I must be looking at a different line up to everyone else.
E Murphy: In the top 3 keepers in the country
T Keogh : Has been super for the village the last two years
    P Murphy: No explanation needed
    J Tyrrell : As above
B Kennedy: Unlucky not the start in All Ire last year had a v good league campaign
K Joyce : My MOM in the replay
C Buckley: As good a No. 7 as any
C Fogarty L Ryan : Serious engines and both can hurl
P Walsh : Can score and defend
W Walsh: A handful for any CB
M Ruth: Not as good as the rest but still can hurl
M Kelly : Excellent league last year
    JJ Farrell: Always a threat
    R Hogan: HOTY

I cant see too many weak links there????

that says it all wait till the summer comes and the big guns roll out again................

Will there be tickets for students/oap's available outside the ground tomorrow? No mention of it on the website...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,391 ✭✭✭letowski

Of that Cork team, it's probably likely that a good 12 of those will start come summer time. I mean McDonnell, McLoughlin will be starting, after that it will have to take a really talented young gun to break into that team. I think will Cork have the strongest 15 out of the 6 counties in D1a this weekend, and should win this weekend.

Woeful Cork display in the first half.

Too many fancy Dans in the forwards and too many lads out of position in the full back line.

Kilkenny horsing Cork out of it repeatedly in a lot of areas.

Hopefully we come out second half with some more fire in the belly...

Shocking. I would love to know how many puckouts we won - from either keeper. They were stronger, more eager and looked every bit better than us in most departments.
We were blessed with the late goals but certainly deserved to loose by 7 or 8 at least.

Some players first touch was very poor, Cronin in particular looked very awkward indeed.

I must comment on the pitch as well. It matched Corks performnance. Cut up something terrible and don't blame recent weather....Musgrave park looks like a carpet in comparison!

Terrible performance. Kilkenny outmuscled us from go. Sick of saying it unless cork club hurling gets more physical we won't win a thing. Hoggy is a passenger. Cahalane was brutal. Cronin just awful. Kearney & harnedy tried hard but we are miles away from Kilkenny. At least 7 points better tonight.
