I'm trying to get the bf down right now so here are the current places keeping me awake at night:

The cote de boeuf @ Butchers Grill, Ranelagh

The beefeater burger @ generator hostel, Smithfield

The pulled pork @ bison bar, templebar

Soy & garlic chicken @ crackbird, dame St

Brunch @ San lorenzos, georges street

Sandwiches @ 147 deli, Parnell st

Pitt bros, boojums, and counter all get a little thinking about too.

    Damnit, now I'm hungry.

Damn you .ak!! How dare you put up a list like that. I'm back in Dublin this weekend and now all plans are out the window as I have to visit everyone of those establishments. I already planned on wings from Tribeca, a burger from Dillingers and also the Aussie BBQ. I'm going to be a fat b*stard by the end of this weekend.

Surprised you didn't mention Ranelagh's Brazilian BBQ!

Having ate in a different All-You-Can-Eat Brazilian BBQ in Manchester, I'm absolutely sold by them. Teferi was at the one in Ranelagh at the weekend and said it was difficult to stop eating.

Finally went to Counter Burger last week and, while the burger was excellent, the service was utterly awful which really put me off. I was there during work hours but after the lunch time rush and it took 35 minutes to get my burger out to me.

On the burger itself, very good but not the best I've had. Half pounder with fried onions, cheddar, pickle, lettuce, onion marmalade and BBQ sauce. Great selection of sides/toppings etc. but had to absolutely wolf it down.

Also, while I generally hate their coffee, I had a decaf Americano from Insomnia the other day and it wasn't too bad. Might help with the cravings.

Ah come on!! I already have enough places to eat this weekend and you have to mention this!

I really miss living in Ranelagh. So many good restaurants and even the pubs tend to serve a decent feed.

Proper coffee. The guy who started it up is one of the worlds best baristas. When they were in twisted pepper I thought they had a real cool thing going for the right reasons, now it's a bit of a hipster cliché but the coffee is undeniably good. Go in there and try an espresso. The stuff is black, oily gold. No sugar needed even if you're a sweet tooth. A flat white or macchiato is always good too. I usually pop in when I cycle over to the RDS for a sly one.

The place in twisted pepper now, vice coffee, is equally good and their service is great.

Will have to try this place, I like my coffee! My gf got me a Nespresso machine for Christmas, they are some job!

I found the only issue with Nespresso to be having to queue for the pods in Brown Thomas. The amount of utter **** spouted by some of the people who shop in that place is unbearable and standing behind em in the queue makes it harder to ignore.

They have opened a shop now across the road from Brown Thomas where you can serve yourself.

You go in, put what you want in a bag, set it on the machine to pay and do it all yourself. No having to talk to anyone and no having to queue.

Just need to figure out what you want first.

That's fair enough, where would you recommend that is better?

I don't think it's THAT over priced, the prices would be similar enough to most burger places no?

I'm not exactly a connoisseur but it's the best burger i've had. The bun is soft and has a good texture to it, the meat tastes fantastic and the toppings aren't overdone, kept simple. A lot of places do burgers that are so big you'd have to unhinge your jaw to eat them but Bunsen is the perfect size.

I'm gonna stop talking about burgers before i start drooling :pac:

Currently stuffing my face as I'm fasting in the morning for a knee op, the last page of this thread has had me drooling like Homer Simpson...

I went there the other night and I agree. It is expensive, I think about a tenner for burger and chips, but I enjoyed it all. I don't mind paying abit more for something that I think is good quality, so overall I was happy out.

I wouldn't call that expensive for a good burger and chips. Eddie Rockets will take a lot more off ya! I do like their backon and cheese fries though...

    The Great White!

My only criticism is the same problem that all double burgers have; it was too big to fit your mouth around! It would probably be better to eat with a knife and fork but thats sacrilegious

    Rockin Joes doing good deal:
    Any Burger
    Any Chips or Any Side
    Any soda or milkshake
    €13

Their Hot Sauce wings are drool enducing

I find that Rockin Joes is no where near as good as Eddie rockets was, particularly on the more recent times I've been there

I thought it was yesterday, and it was just the first 10 episodes of the series, did it appear again?
    @HouseofCards
This is Washington. There's always a leak. All 13 episodes will launch February 27.

I liked their tweet about it.

    I can't wait for it.

Don't read if you haven't watched season 2:
Can't believe they killed Zoe. Kate Mara is smokin' hot. :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,878 ✭✭✭b.gud

Ya heard about that this morning.
They musn't have been up for long as they don't even appear to be available for people who are willing to procure them via not entirely legal ways ;)

Can't wait for the actual release, haven't done a binge watch in a while

I think they were up very very briefly but people who had the index open were able to keep watching after they'd removed them for everyone else.

Someone did put the episode descriptions up online, but I really don't want to ruin the plot by reading them.

I was never that gone on her, I think it was something about here head that put me off.
Her being killed off was one of the standout moments in season 2, I really didn't see it coming

Started out as plausible interesting political drama like the West Wing. By the end of season two it was fairly OTT

The missus looks very like her, but not that I'd tell her she's smokin' hot. What I did tell her is if she doesn't stop nagging me I'll push her out of infront of a train.
