Passed P2 first time around ...THANK GOD!!! On to P5 now me thinks :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4 5 to go

Passed P2 with 62, failed P7 with 44%. First time. Just delighted to get P2 out of the way, it was so much work. Dissapointed about audit, just need to work on exam technique a bit.

Two to go! Congrats to anyone who passed. If not, failure is temporary. But you have a pass for forever!

Passed F5 with 82% and F8 with 74%. Delighted. Exempt from F1 to F4 so plan is to get F6, F7 and F9 done in June then onto the P papers.
Studied as an e-learning distance student through GCD and found them good. Likely will stick with them for F6, F7 and F9 although if Julie Hawkins did a distance course I would go with that option. Back to the books next week!

Jem123 if you struggled with F7 you should try and do P2 right away it builds directly on the F7 material and is easier to get if you don't have to relearn the F7 stuff before you start.

Not from Cork but for p7 would you consider home study?

It's very doable at home. I did it and used only past exam papers, the mini spiral notes from bpp, and the acca online videos

Not fir everyone but as it's theory I believe it's one of the main ones you could do yourself as long as you are motivated. I just passed Dec 14 with 64%

Thanks SBWife. I considered it but need to do F9 in June and couldn't cope with the 2 computational exams at once! I will probably take P2 on its own in December

Apparently There is a delay this year as a large number of student got incorrect results. Its not official yet but I have it from a good source that student are to be notified this week that there was an issue and their score is incorrect.

    Only joking

    pass rates are up..

A very big jump in F4 since the introduction of CBE..

pass rates in the optional papers are still pretty brutal..

My heart  haha the panic for a split second there!!

Yeah the P level pass rates are brutal, P5 especially. I wonder what % of people sitting them got exemptions in F1-F9 and are doing ACCA exams for the first time. Now with the changes to the structure of sitting the P level exams (you can do them in any order now) will that improve the pass rates I wonder.

EDIT : Having said that with the pass rates being poor, it makes it more of an achievement when you do pass! :)

I got exemptions from 1-9. I passed P1 & P3 first time, but it definitely affected my performance having never sat an ACCA exam before and added to the nerves. Its definitely a positive to have the exemptions but its also a challenge.

Passed P7 Irl first time but failed P6, going to move into P4 and do it by itself as I done quite well in F9, didn't do F6 so P6 was always going to be a big ask. Looking forward to doing only one paper though! Last one :)

That's great I signed up today

Look there are no easy options for the P Level papers. They are all horrendous in their own way. The syllabus for P4 looks very interesting but the exam is very tough. With a bit of hard work and luck we'll pass in June.

Tbh I've looked at a couple of past papers and the study text and can remember seeing some of the stuff at F9. Will be tough but plenty of past papers and a good lecturer in Liam Doran will help me through hopefully.

I have FINALLY passed some exams! Had 5 exemptions to start with and on my 4th attempt of F9 and 3rd attempt of F4, I have finally passed them!!! I know this may seem sad to some people but you don't understand how massive this is for me. If I had failed one more time, I think that would have been it for me with ACCA which doesn't help as I'm a trainee accountant for over 2 years now.

I'm just god awful at exams, always have been, so I'm motivated now to start studying well in advance now. It was all down to my attitude towards the exams I feel. I didn't do enough study and even though I felt I studied enough for the June 2014 exams, I soon realised after doing a proper study plan months in advance, for December 2014 exams, at the amount of work that was to be done.

For anyone doing F4, just do all the questions in the study guide but also watch out for those latin terms that aren't well pointed out in the books.

On to F7 and F8 now and hopefully on to the Ps in December :)

Congrats, I sat my first two in Dec, P1 & P2. Got passes and the feeling was amazing.

You are right to be on cloud nine and maybe now you've figured out how to pass moving forward!

    Congrats

    Hi

I'm looking for some advice. I have two option papers left but I have done P4 for the fourth time and failed. I thought I did alright this time. Enough to get 50 at least.
Obviously I'm not getting it so need to pick another subject. I'd like to do P6 but not sure about P5 or P7. Scrapped a pass in F5 and did P3 three times so I'm thinking P5 will be out.
What is P7 like? I don't work in practice nor do I plan to.
The options are not great. All advice welcome.

P7. I dont work in practice either but its very passable, especially if your comfortable with application and application. Passed it first time with the Irish variant which I wouldnt advise to be honest. Every paper has a very similar feel to it so past paper revision helps out big time.
