Id prefer Fellaini in midfield everyday over Herrera.

Ya dont hear west brom moaning about playing a midfielder in defense today but we moan about a player on 300k a week in midfield. We shd be good enough to beat west ham with Rooney in midfield. 1 player wont change how we are playing we have been awful away from home all season.

Playing central midfielders in central midfield might seem like a crazy idea, but I think it might just bring some of this balance to the side I have been hearing so much about.

Don't think Fellani is anywhere good enough for Utd but thats just my opinion. Think Herrera is a far superior ball player

There is Rooney in CM with the injuries earlier in the season of course he had to play there but now,its time to ditch that, put him back where he plays well and can hurt teams,

And then LVG would have a big decision to make on who he wants to play up front.

You have to like the spirit the team show. Regardless of the result, it's obvious that the players' attitudes are spot on.

The attacking play being so dire is wholly LVG's fault. The fact that deep crosses to Fellaini are our among most effective routes to goal is unacceptable. With the players at his disposal and the time he has had to install a style of play you can only say that Van Gaal has done a very poor job so far.

Credit to Blind for his goal. I don't rate him very highly as a midfielder, but he saved our bacon there.

I don't agree, Herrrera provides much more creativty.
What Fellani provides is a great option for #10 as he can provide knock downs, an ariel threat and he's really great at providing a link between midfield and the strikers.
And he's a really great finisher to be fair

It'll be a very interesting summer window. Rooney is not a midfielder, but what system does LvG want to play when given his own players?

    4-4-2 Diamond? 3-5-2 Wingbacks? 4-3-3?

I agree, I never have any doubt about team spirit at the moment. In fact team spirit seemed to be so lacking when Moyes was in charge...think the players were to blame just as much as Moyes (Ferdinand being a prime example)
What has happened is that we are defintately hindered by incorrect tactical decisions by LVG

Genuinely not trying to provoke the beast here but was just posting on the our own thread (Arsenal) and god knows we have our problems but Di Maria has been very poor and worrying overall.

Reminds me of the Ozil situation although he has been effective since his return. Di Maria has cost almost twice the price of Ozil and yet certainly gets a free media ride.

Lookin at United its baffling why they aren't putting out there best players in best positions. 2nd or 3rd sown up if ye did imo.

BTW Moyes is on Sky Sports 1

Still have loads of respect for him regardless of how things went with us

Di Maria's been poor now for a long while, hes abit like Ozil, very lightweight compared to a fighter like Sanchez, I hope he picks it up his form again

Well Johnny, stick around and you'll see just how infuriated this thread is with players being shoe-horned in to positions they don't naturally play.

Ozil had a much better first season than Di Maria sadly

LVG needs to grow a pair and do what he did at Bayern and tell either Falcao or RVP that they're not going to play much this season.

We need to move Rooney upfront and look to get Herrara into the side.

Ozil has bulked up recently and Di Maria will need to do if he is going to make it in the premier league. Look at Costa and Sanchez too beasts of men who have adapted to the premier League seemlessly.

Players dont get protected as much in the premier league just the way it is so he better adapt

Only game we lost with him starting was against city I think he adds steel to a team of boys tbh we are just soft centered for want of a better wording.

I don't think we nessescarily need more creativity. We have plenty from mata, Rooney, Maria, rvp, falcao.
Fellaini gives a good disruptive presence and isn't as clumsy as he is made out to be.

Yeah, comes across as a very nice person and honest.

Love to see him do well in Spain.

Think alot of us agree, he's probably been our best player but that isn't fair to Herrera who hasn't had enough of chance to prove himself.
And when he has had a chance he's scored some crucial goals and genuinly provided some much needed creativty in midfield which we are so void of of late.
LVG's stubborness to play Rooney in the poisition Herrera should be in is the main cause of this

The says fu*k all really. Though it might be one of the reasons we are playing sh*te football. Hi first touch is not good enough and he is too slow.We will not win a league with Fellani in our team

Yeah we don't need so many 'technical' players. You need a destructive big man throwing elbows to create space and knock the ball down or impede a defender to let the others play.

It's not pretty but it's effective

I never said he was clumsy I just think Herrea has much more vision in picking out Strikers

Only problem there is RVP & Falcoa together is not an option IMO
It's either one or the other with Rooney alongside. This will provide us with more movement

One thing about Moyes he looked a drained character at the end of his time at Utd and now seems to have his spark back, less pressure of course has to be helping,

Good to see him doing well in Spain.

He's a very likeable man, I really think he has been ripped of his credit of all the good things he has done for Everton by his stinted manangement of Man Utd.

A few of my mates who are Everton fans want him back. They admit they have been blinded by the bluffer that is Martinez last season / this season IMO

He did not play till the 70th minute what's the excuse for playing **** for the first 70

His form has been poor for a while alright but absolutely nothing to do with his physique. He's been built like a bean pole all his career and has done alright for himself. He needs to find form again, not worry about bulking up, which is a bizzare suggestion.

That was a nice insight to how Moyes is doing.

Looks far happier, says he didn't get enough time at United, but no sign of any bitterness.

Pity it wasn't an hour long programme and some one else instead of Geoff Shreeves.
