    Folks

This just started recently, car front passenger door wont open from the outside, even though unlocked, the handle pulls out but door stays shut. Door Opens no problem from the inside. All other doors are working fine

Car is a VW Passat 2006.

Any ideas, presume handle could be broken and will need an expert to look at same?

    Cheers B.

More than likely it's the lock that's the problem.

Fix it while you can still open the door from the inside, once the inside doesn't work then you have a much bigger problem.
Back doors on Passats also give trouble.

It's normally the drivers door that gives trouble. Lock the car and with the palm of your hand give the passenger door a good slap about 6 inches under the door handle on the outside. Unlock the doors with the fob and see if it opens.

I have to do it on my car now and again. The trick is not to pull the handle on the door whilst your unlocking the car. My car has done this for years.
