Love it! There were only ever a handful of them sold here. And I've never before seen one for sale for a reasonable price. This ad is 2 hours old now, I doubt the car will still be for sale this time tomorrow

Best of luck to both the seller and the buyer :)

15 available on autotrader.co.uk. 4 on carandclassic. So rare all round. Comparing prices & mileage with the one above it is a very good buy..
Wish I was in the market..!

I'd be a bit suspect of the seller's other adds

Well, it is a V6 and not a bad engine at all in fairness.

    Here is an interesting review:

    And another one:

Jeayzis, I like this machine. It is in a class of its own, isn't it?

The issue I see with a C6 is finding someone able to maintain one of these in Ireland.

The C6 equivalent of what George Dalton is for VAG owners

Stunning car thought - and surely a future classic in the making if the cars survive long term

    Thoughts on this?

    Linky

    Nearly half a million kilometers!!!

In Galway...I wonder was that silver 07 730d that was running on its own engine oil at the lights at Briarhill junction last year, revving like a b@stard and it wouldn't knock off with the key, and wouldn't stall cos of the auto....

    Runaway?

Thanks for reminding me never even to think again of buying a diesel :)

That said, I probably would have been more than happy with that C6. Best of luck to the new owner!

Is there any possible way I could buy that and use it without the wife knowing?

obviously he must be australian as the pic are upside down.

    RANT on:
this drives me nuts ,some one wants to sell a car and they either put up crap pictures( taken in the dark or rain) or cant figure out the correct way to use a camera.

    Rant off

    Nice car mind

To be fair decent indys aren't as hard to find as some people think.

I mean someone who understands the C6 - rather then Indys generally.

They are a VERY rare car - so youd figure very few people have worked on them on this country.

Unless ive missed something - I perceive them to be a complex car

Low mileage tidy looking XJ8 with new test for cheap.

Irish motoring journo Bob Flavin gets a break from his usual reviews of diesel sh1tbox Hyundais and the likes and drives an '03 Jaguar XJ8 :)

Mmm, you can tell he's rather unsure of his ground. Little bit saucily-priced, I'd say somewhere between €3,500-€4,000 would be more like it depending on mileage. That traction control issue is most likely a wheel-speed sensor BTW - €150 will sort it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,446 ✭✭✭Old diesel

Would it have been that hard to do a bit of research on the XJ8 before driving it????

I know Sinead had her notes in the passenger seat - but even so.

I think it was meant to be a "fun piece" rather then a serious review like his normal new car reviews

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,904 ✭✭✭cadaliac

Even so - Bangernomics, it is not @ that price.

    BTW,
    Sinead is hot.

I think she seems a bit zoned out there. More into the 0-60 times etc (which we know is going to be more than adequate) than the nuts and bolts of the relative value of the car - which the piece is meant to be about. I'd forgive her all that though as shes well fit!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,086 ✭✭✭✭Duke O Smiley

    She's alright

Did he call it an XK8?

Yes - Sinead corrected him on it as well

Re Sinead and the piece - my interpretation is that Bob is supposed to be the main man.

And Sinead found him the car (shes from Cars Ireland) - so that was her bit done.

    I think

In all fairness though - as another poster points out - its NOT bangernomics at that price.

    Nice car though

Before I bought my 7 -Series I came very close to buying a 2003 one of these in blue. I remember because it was a V8 and I had a moment where I had a hankering for one. I'm pretty certain it's the same car....

It was for sale privately with no NCT, it was hovering around the €2k mark. I'm not certain tis the same but I'm fairly confident.
