Kissing on first date dilemma

So I'm 23 and I'm meeting a girl for coffee tomorrow. It'll be a bit strange for me as I've not went on many dates before (I had a 2yr relationship before but pretty much any other girl I've been with has been on a night out.) we've never met but have been texting the past week and have been getting on great. We've joked about how much we want to kiss each other and we're definitely going to kiss on the first date. Now to my question and slight dilemma.

1. In general, is a kiss on a first date almost expected?

2. In this case I'm lucky that I know we both want to kiss. But, where can we kiss for the first time? We'll be in a crowded shopping centre and it'll be during the day. I'm sure fellow readers will have some suggestions

First date kiss is usually nothing more than a peck on the cheek. Particularly if it's in the middle of the day in a very public place. Relax and enjoy

Well here's the thing with online dating (assuming that's what it is seeing as you haven't yet met)

You're simply not going to know if you actually want to kiss until you've met in the flesh. That's just how it is. I've massively misjudged a few situations where I thought it was a sure thing only to meet up and feel nothing, guy wasn't what I expected, no chemistry etc

So don't go rushing in thinking this is a foreseen event and counting down to it in your head. Just go with the flow, see if you get on, if you actually like her and try to read her body language. If you do fancy her, step up the flirting and see if she responds.

A kiss is not a no-no on a first date. I've had some major snogs! Wore the face off my OH on our first date. You find a quiet road or quiet spot at the back of a cafe and go in for the kill. Bob's your uncle. Just make sure you're actually present during the date and let things happen organically.

Cheers everyone for the replies. Suppose I was just over thinking it but just wondered if anyone here had some good ideas for a first kiss location :P was also curious to see what people's thoughts on first date kisses were.

So anyway, we ended up meeting tonight, went for a drive, had good fun and kissed in the car! Simples!
