Received a letter at my mothers today by registered post.

It is about the waste management at the house, a house i no longer live at.

The letter threatens legal action if i don't reply...

    Here is the letter

I was pretty annoyed to receive this letter so I've considered the following response
    Dear Sir/Madam,

I received a letter today in relation to the waste management at the following address:

    Address

This letter is in relation to a survey, about the the waste management at the above the address.

I no longer live at this address, and have not for the best part of 2 years. And furthermore when i did live at this address all that time ago, i have no input into the waste management of the household...

I feel that your have wasted tax payers money(of which i'm one) to send a letter to me about this topic...despite me not living at the address.

I'm also not impressed with the treat of legal action, is this all you people at the limerick council have to do all day...Fill your days with treats against people at address' they no longer live at.

I expect an email and a phone(my number) call monday morning to comfirm the resolution of this situation.

I can be contacted between 9am and 9.15am, 2.15pm and 2.45pm Monday. As i'll be busy at work paying taxes and thus your wage.

    Best Wishes
    Sober "Pays Your Wage" Paddy

    What ye think?

You might want to correct the spelling and grammar first.
It's also a bit too aggressive, to be honest.

    He links don't work BTW.

If you can't see the aggressive tone in that letter then good luck to you. I'm out of here.
I know I'd give a reply like that scant attention if I were the recipients.

I wish I worked in a council, where I could fill my day with treats

I'd remove the "pays your wages" bit too.

    Public servents aren't your employees.

Technically their taxes pay their own wages.

    Paradox

While the letter you received may have been wrong, it's ridiculus to think that you somehow have any authority over them. That is implied by the "pay your wages" comment.

    What kind of treats?

    Zzzzzzzzz... I pay your wages.

I bet people wouldn't like to hear someone else use that after reporting a crime etc.

"Couldn't arrest him, sure he said he pays my wages."

I think your letter is overfilled with anger, there are more important things in life, bin it and move on..

It was more of a thing said out of angry at the letter, and because they are treating legal action as public servants

You seriously need to use a spell checker if you're going to send any sort of a letter at all

I din't think it is, they have went at the OP with the threat of legal action when he wasn't resident at the address at the time in question. There is likely a data protection breach as to how they obtsined his details seeing as they are out of date. I think the letter is tame and a perfect response to someone carrying out threats.

Just read their side there op.

Cop on and just tell them. I guess it's because they don't want illegal waste collecting and being dumped somewhere at the side of the road.

Are public institutions entitled to pursue legal action under certain circumstances?

A polite note pointing out that you are no longer at the address and were not the occupant or owner at the time of the survey - give them the dates you vacated - will do the trick.
Lord help us if you say you never came across an error in your employment.

Since when is it a treat? Is this a thing now? For "special" people? I want my treat too. I'm special too.
