The only thing going for us is that we're third, if we were to fall out of the top 4 I think the murmurings would begin, I don't think the fans would stand for it too long if we were out of the top 4, playing 5 at the back and dropping points against poor teams

Let Dortmund be an example of the need for unpredictability, and what happens when you don't adapt in time

The way I see it there's two main problems, Van Gaal's decision making regarding formations and positions and Van Gaal's philosophy so far looking not much more than a fancy version of Stoke after 7 months

It would be nice to have a £30m+ footballer who doesn't need babysitting for a few years first. You would wonder how Sanchez and Costa managed it, but asking that question will just see all the old excuses trotted out (Injuries, manager, system, etc etc).

Sanchez and Costa, ok, but how many big money signings take more time to come good. I would say the likes of Costa and Sanchez are exceptions rather than the rule.

I think I probably agree with the general just of what you are saying tho...with the money spent we should be doing a lot better.

You dont just become a bad player overnight when you're a world cup winner and world class for the best part of 5 years, he's playing in a team void of confidence, it plays its part. Put anyone of our world class players in the QPR side and see how they would be playing after 6 months of defeat after defeat.

If hummels was playing as bad in the likes of Bayern I'd be concerned but not at the moment.

Subsequently, Torres is doing pretty well since he's moved back. I actually hope he stays fit and regains his form, hes only 30, he could have 3 more very very good years in spain.
