    Nowhere, still at United.

Jesse Lingard signed a new deal and then on loan to Derby.

Huge show of faith in Lingard from LVG.

James and Powell were loaned out within a few days of that game, Janko gone today.

in terms of player turnover, it must one of the most wastershed games in recent years at the club.

    I'll miss Anderson.

Always smiling and joking in pictures. Everyone seemed to like him and play with him. He was the clubs jester.

He's not too far off tbf, fantastic footballer but not the elite defender he's made out to be by some quarters.

But in Rojo he has that defender who will put his neck on the line to win everything, it could be just like Vidic / Ferdinand

Not sure how you could miss him, he has been irrelevant to the club for so long now. You only ever hear about him during transfer windows,

A nice clean out for the winter transfer window, getting some of the players out of the way for a smaller and hopefully a tighter knit squad, before the summer signings.

I am encouraged that United bought no senior players in that they have not bought for the sake of buying.

When it comes to a midfield player in the summer, it has to be Pogba, yes he would break the British transfer record, and far more expensive than Strootman.
But so far and thankfully for Pogba, he has avoided serious injury, looks strong, knows where the goal is, can tackle and take on players, but it was when I read him talk about having to work hard to continue to improve, I saw the same intent that drove Ronaldo on. The 'Yeah I am good, but I have to work hard to continue to improve.
That is a player any team would love.

Falcao should be signed once he remains fit, he works hard, has not played a huge amount, I think he will show up his doubters in the remaining months of this season.

Hummels should be signed for his experience and his calmness in defense. If reports are to believed he signs in the summer.

I would love Varane but the chances of Varane being sold by Real Madrid look as likely as them selling us Ronaldo next season = 0.
It looks like Aymeric Laporte will leave Athletic Bilbao in the summer, with claims his signature is a battle between United and Real Madrid, there are claims however true, he is open to a move to United in the summer.

Seamus Coleman or Nathaniel Clyne for right back, it doesn't look like LVG really trusts Rafael in that position, so maybe he is sold and we have one of them with Valencia as back up.

I think Reus goes to Madrid, would like him but he seems too injury prone of late.
I would be happy if United kept the French biased theme going to what I am posting and bought Lyon's Alexandre Lacazette, his main role is striker but he can play on either wing and would suit a 4-3-3.

    So that is:
    Clyne/Coleman
    Hummels
    Laporte
    Pogba
    Lacazette
With the Falcao deal made a permanent signing.

Ok that is three French players, but the French national team is the team to watch in the coming years in my opinion as they have serious talent.
We haven't been linked with Lacazette, but United are not blind, I'm sure Wenger will try and get him along with many other top clubs across Europe.
The rest of the players we have been linked with, and I think our attack has been somewhat castrated by our defense as we played to not concede which hindered the number of goals we scored, with a new defense and De Gea still there, hopefully it would give a bit more oomph to the attack combined with a top midfield signing.

Whatever the case, an exciting summer awaits.

    Round up from Teamtalk.

    MANCHESTER UNITED

Ins: Victor Valdes (free agent), Sadiq El Fitouri (Salford City, undisclosed), Andy Kellett (Bolton, loan)

Outs: Michael Keane (Burnley, undisclosed), Will Keane (Sheff Wed, loan), Ben Amos (Bolton, loan), Joe Rothwell (Blackpool, loan), Marnick Vermijl (Sheff Wed, undisclosed), Wilfried Zaha (Crystal Palace, undisclosed), Ben Pearson (Barnsley, loan), Sam Johnstone (Preston, loan), Jesse Lingard (Derby, loan),

Saidy Janko (Bolton, loan), Darren Fletcher (West Brom, free transfer)

    Not seeing Anderson confirmed :(
Maybe there is more time to go with selling to the South American teams.

If he does go, then those sales have freed up at least £120K a week

I dunno - writing was on the wall from well before that game that Zaha and Anderson had no future. People were saying a good bit before it that Kagawa and Hernandez were off too. Vermeijl was well known to be on the way too - there was something said (by him, iirc, after he wasnt brought on the US tour). Amos going on loan is hardly a surprise either. At his age, with DDG ahead of him, he was never going to be staying at the club long.

IMO, only Welbeck and Keane (given the use of Blackett and McNair) are the surprising sales from that group.

Still wouldn't surprise me to see Lindegaard leave. Few different transfer windows still open.

Rafael was pleased to complete a mask-free 90 minutes for the U21s tonight. He told MUTV: "I did use a mask [for my cheekbone injury] for four weeks in training. The doc said I couldn't play without it. It was bad as sometimes I can't see through the mask! Of course, 90 minutes is always good and now I look forward to playing a first-team game."

So Rafael was not fully fit or physically ready for first team.

I'll not miss performances or playing ability.

Only the pictures of him on the training ground at functions he has no right to e at.

    He is a scallywag.

He is more than a little better, he is everything defensively that Kroos lacks as well. I'm a fan of both players but before his injuries Strootman was superb, it's a pity injuries seem to cast different views on players than before. Before his injuries United would have been lucky to get him.
If I had to pick between Strootman or Kroos on form it has to be Strootman on what I've seen

Evenly matched on the attacking side but Strootman is way ahead on the defensive and general midfield duties

Key word there is on form and not injured though, if he's injured he's worth nothing

Maybe I was unlucky with the games I watched Strootman in because there is no smoke without fire and so many people rate him highly so I'll bow to your superior knowledge but the games I saw he ranged from being average to practically anonymous. It was about 8 games I caught, non consecutively though.

With Strootman seemingly out for the rest of this season, I can't see how it would be safe for United to go for him in the summer. He will have been out for a prolonged period, come back and been out for a long period again. That is a big worry. Surely United would need to see that he is capable of playing consistently again.

The Premier Inn near OT? The fastest way is by taxi. If your in the city center you can get a train from the airport into Piccadilly.

You should have plenty of time as long as there's no major delays. Once you land you'll clear the airport within a few minutes.
Don't use the cabs just outside the door. Book a cab/taxi instead who'll be waiting just outside the door at the departure drop offs. I used to use PCG cars a lot when I lived there, cheap and reliable.

So LVG has effectively said that he is satisfied that the current crop of players are sufficient for top 4. He has more than enough time to decide if any of the defenders are not up to the task and thus replace them but decided against it.

He has no more excuses. This is the team we are going to challenge with.

If I email the Premier Inn will they book those on advance for me or should I ring/email myself?
