I'm finding the dashcam very useful for reviewing driving incidents during the day to check if I was right to think/react the way I did.

At the time I thought the guy below just cut across, but from looking at the video I can see that he put on his indicator before he changed.
Also, based on the size of the gap I'd left open up in front of me, he probably thought I was letting him in.

Looks to me like he was forcing his way in ....

Is that the road with the bus lane on the left where tons of people who are turning left drive up the bus lane? Really pisses me off as there isn't that much space and they basically block both the bus and middle lane.

Ha, I spent the evening doing the same every time I moved off. That's a LSD and RWD for you! :pac:

It's the same junction, but Newtown Park Avenue coming up from the Blackrock side.
There was a bus lane but it ends 60m back.
The lane he was in would normally be for left turning only.

Am a recent RWD Automatic convert and haven't been in ice yet. If you just release the brake pedal do you still get spin ?

I'm a manual, so I can't say for definite, but it was very easy to get wheelspin on one wheel (and hence a little kick to the side) for me until the LSD started to lock up. If your 'box is gentle with a closed throttle then I can't see it being a significant issue.

Isn't S normally sport mode? As in it holds gears longer.

Yes, S for sport mode, comfort mode (W) is for snow - changes steering characteristics, braking TC etc.

The signs say "Stop Garda Brutality" but these assholes are standing in the middle of the road outside Mountjoy Garda station in the Dark.
I can only assume they are baiting the Gardai into trying to move them off the road.
    What a dirty trick.

nah, i gave up after 3 minutes, mostly give or take driving, some of the incidents were so minor, i don't know why they botherd to post them

Pro tip, skip the first minute

Watched it all, got the impression that he's a narky, agressive, self-righteous individual. Drive around the city, m50, n11 and you would see most of the video's contents practically everyday.

It's got comfort, normal, sport and sport + but would any of these impact starting off with zero throttle ?

In short, no. Starting off with no throttle in an auto is the most gentle start you can do. It's consistently a soft start too, no need to get the clutch just right.

My 180 bhp diesel auto has no trouble starting off on icy roads. The trouble starts when you hit the loud pedal. :D

    No.

I've driven in th heavy snow in Dublin over the years in a 320d auto, 525d auto, 530d auto and 535d auto. If you adopt to the conditions you'll be fine.

First clip, not much to see here but its worth noting,
I've seen the Gardai at this junction in Phibsboro quite a few mornings.

Keep an eye on this speed demon & amber gambler, you'll be seeing him again later.

    He's a serial offender..

Believe me they are going to need a stack of notebooks at this junction!

The raw video is good. In the process of editing, it has got into this state. And, about the dirt like thing on left side, it's the N plate.

Looks like an app that obscures text jumped in and pixilated the rear of the car.
