    Hi,

I have a 2002 ford focus and the Air Bag light has come on, I have an NCT coming up shortly and need it turned off, As far as I know you need the Diagnostic to get it off but as I am not a mechanic i'm not sure, but anyone in the greystones, bray, even further area who is willing to fix it give me a shout and maybe we can agree on a price

Do you know of any reason why the light may have come on in the first place? Sometimes running out of battery or disconnecting a seat sensor may cause it to illuminate.

The light is there to warn you that the airbag might not work in an accident.

Turning the light off could be just masking a more serious problem, and will come back on again after its turned off if so. It's not ok to drive around with this on until next year's NCT if it is a more serious issue.

Think this may have to do with corrosion on the instrument cluster PCB. Known issue with this mk focus. Can be fixed by cleaning with contact cleaner, although involves removal of the instrument cluster

Should be plenty of info on the google machine re removal and cleaning

I had to get the airbag module replaced when this happened before.
