An-124 due into Belfast after dark tonight, worth keeping an eye on FR24 for it.

Not sure if it's picking-up cargo or just doing a quick fuel stop.

Cheers, are they always blocked on FR.

Most of the Omni fleet now is, yes. Visible on Planefinder though, on both OAE and CMB flights.

They also acquired a bunch of 767s from North American and those are a mixed bag, some blocked and others not. The blocked ones were usually used on the diplomatic services out of Washington.

Yeah, I spent a lot of the day running in and out for choice moments.

Most times that we hear them, it's late at night. It's unusual enough to have them all day long on a sunny nice for photography day.

I've just taken my last one for the day as I'm clean out of reasonable light. Last one was a Lufthansa in Star Alliance colours. Not sure what it looks like yet.

Very sorry I missed the Emirates at 11 this morning - flatmate says it was really low.

Not sure when I'll next get a chance I suppose.

Back on topic, we saw a couple of DAA vehicles around 28 today - when did they start appearing?

We've a northerly wind for the next couple of days so keep that camera out!

The DAA vehicles appeared on FR a while back... very odd. Didn't get a pic but FR showed one of them taking a drive to the Beaumont area a while back :D

One of them showed up in Kilmore today. Are they allowed leave the airport grounds. You wouldn't want to be up to anything :)

Fingers crossed 34 is in use tomorrow as I couldn't make it up today. Don't think the winds are forecast to be as strong though.

A330 going by at ~3500 feet just now made some interesting 'eerie howling' sounds as it headed north to the airport :P - interaction with the wind or something?

The EI A330's frequently make that howl when on light throttle or idle as do some of the American heavies when coming in early. I've had them howl over my house early in the morning here in the North county coming from the west, heading out over the sea and turning over Lambay Island and again at Howth when approaching R28. It does sound somewhat unsettling if you're not used to it. It's nothing more than good old resonance! :)

It's a beautiful sound, often see the 104 from JFK coming in early in the morning if I'm on a 05.00 start and the howl is fantastic at that hour of the morning.

Think I found the sound as it moved away from me more striking (made me think of those 'apocalyptic noises worldwide' YouTube vids :pac: )

The howl I hear is much lower pitched than that. What I hear is more reminiscent of the resonance one hears blowing across the top of a glass bottle.

It's probably 104 that gives me my alarm call! :D

It sounds much better in the calm cold air of early morning, beautiful sound and makes my morning when I catch it.

Belongs to Seven Three Seven Two Aviation in America so it might be refueling for the trip home.

Do they not realise people are wetting themselves at the mere thought of 34 being used?

I always find the noise of the engines on the Airbus to sound like metal clanging together, saying that I dont mean it in a bad way, its a great sound, I also love the sound of the T7 as it passes by. Funny as it sounds but my mam can identify which plane is flying over her house by the noise, craziness

    10km vis up there.

The M in front of the temperature means minus. Temperature is 0 and dew point -1

Nothing on the weather to cause hassle, I'll have a look at Knocks opening times. They may have arrived early.

Opens at 10am. The RYR must have arrived a little early and entered the hold until ATC was open.

No joke, many of the regional airports have or had restrictive opening hours. It kept costs down.

Seems daft that they schedule the first inbound of the day prior to opening.

Edit: making a run for the airfield now. Three in a row!

The schedules arrival time for that flight is 9:30am! So does it have to be 30minutes late every day? I doubt the airport was closed at the time the FR arrived, that doesn't make sense.

My mistake guys, I was looking at the Admin section of the AD info.

Atc should be open from 09.15

Only thing I can think of now is the runway was icy. Interesting find Arubex.
Time to crawl back into my hole:pac:

Flybe operated CFN-GLA while they did the PSO, Aer Lingus took up the PSO today and they decided to take up Glasgow with it.
