It's very annoying listening to the British pundits when it comes to Rooney. He really was very poor today in midfield. He was caught in possession a few times, gave away easy passes and layoffs and was at fault for not marking Wasilewski at the back post for the goal.

When it comes to English players like Rooney and Gerrard they often get an easy ride from the British pundits. Gets bloody annoying.

Rooney was cack in midfield yet again.

It's clear from Falcao's celebration and general work ethic how much he wants it to work.

People bang on about Falcao being a money motivated mercenary and history will show some truth in that but he leaves it all out there, 100% from him every time no matter who he's playing for. A model professional on the pitch.

    Daley Blind's game by numbers:

    94% pass accuracy
    5 interceptions
    4 clearances
    3 tackles won

    Great Performance!

good perfomance, but we were playing Leicester at home. see how he performs next week away to west ham

Get the feeling with Falcao he has little enough say in him being moved around between clubs

I really like him. Hard worker, smart movement, team player and gives a **** even though he earns the gdp of a small country. A purple patch and his confidence will come back.

Rooney in midfield will cost us points, it's the next Van Gaal stubbornness that needs to be overcome, he needs to pick two of Rooney, Falcao, and RVP and start giving Herrera games

Rooney being captain and Falcao being loaned in are huge problems in terms of the lineup. LVG won't drop Rooney and he insists on playing both RVP and Falcao up front so we are stuck with Rooney and his awful hollywood passes in the middle. The midfield would be far more solid with Hererra.

Whatever. He played well today and rightly getting praised. It was great performance. If against West ham he plays poorly then it will get highlighted next week.

Blind did nothing more than what Carrick would normally do tbh

True, but at least we have someone else who can do that when Carrick is injured.

    3. Man Utd: 43
    4. Southampton: 42
    5. Spurs: 40
    6. Arsenal: 39
    7. Liverpool: 38

Top 4 competition is seriously close. You can probably put Arsenal on 42 points now since they have Villa at home tomorrow.

Picture of Herrera on the bench today on twitter, doesn't look happy and rightfully so. On phone so can't link.

id wait and see a few more games but all the signs look good. when you have over 70% possession it really is a walk in the park

You still need to play against 11 other professional footballers.

No matter how 'bad' they are.

With his reputation as being the next big thing, and his breakout season last year, it's games like today you want to see him taking the game by the neck. He hasn't announced himself this season. He hasn't shown anything this season to suggest a regular starting place in the team. I've said it before, as have many others, the kid needs to be loaned out.

LVG sayd he needs him for the squadso he wont loan him out if we get players in during the summer all well and good but he shouldnt be going if LVG needs him

We've had that before & looked rubbish, there was actually some movement throughout the team today.

Given how little LVG seems to rate Rafael and Herrera, I cant understand why we aren't going for a cm and RB this window. Valencia and Rooney are crap in those positions. If they are getting picked ahead of players who actually play those roles it says a lot.

    Very disappointing and annoying.

He can pass with both feet he so he links with both wings easier and is alot better at taking the ball on under pressure than Carrick who would normally just lay it back blind try gets a step to make room for a more forward pass.

Blind in tight spots is miles ahead of Carrick, a few times today he had 2 men on him and didnt look fazed.

IMO Herrera not playing is all down to Rooney being the captain. He see's him as undroppable and insists on playing Falcao and RVP. So Rooney gets shoe-horned into the team and Herrera misses out.

Blind's first touch is very good, he takes so much pressure off himself and a lot of the time knocks it the opposite direction which slightly unbalances the opposing defense and is very useful going forward.

And yet he speaks about balance. What crap.

Could he see Herrara as being too weak to be playing Center Midfield? The man is very frail, but then again why would he sign him?
I wonder was he LVGs choice or was it nearly a done deal and LVG just gave it the Ok, not paying attention to the €€€.
LVG seems to like a bit of height/power in CM. Hence why He usually goes with Fellaini ahead of Herrara when Rooney isnt picked in Midfield.

Liverpool's next 4 are very tough so hopefully they can fade away. West Ham away next is always difficult.

Herrera is ridiculously physical for a Spanish player
