As much as the article is nonsense, Qatar actually has been accused by some very well regarded media institutions as supporting terrorism

747-200 about to make its way across the country, this lady is almost 28 years old

You gave me inspiration to start digging in the logs!

Another one that crosses Ireland fairly frequently is 4X-ICO of Israel Cargo Airlines; c/n 23348 built 1985. I think the 1980-built 4X-ICM has been retired now, haven't seen it for over a year.

    E-4B 73-1676 less regularly as GRIM25: 1973.

In terms of SPs, HZ-HM1B sails past us on occasion: 1978.

Speaking of Qatar, one of their Amiri A343s is plodding up the Irish Sea at 07:45

    Via Stansted to... somewhere.

planes landing over the City from the South right now, probably only the 2nd time in the last 12 months ive seen it.

alot of holding going on also so they must have only changed the runway in the last 30 mins.

due to the wind or another reason???

Very windy right now, I'm not too far from the airport all be it not in work or listening in so not sure of the speeds but some strong gusts alright this morning.

I'm not complaining. Have the camera out for the occasional trip to the front garden.

Saw an Emirates 777 landing just before 11 on it so they've been using it for a few hours now.

Got a nice view from the front of the house, would've been even better at the viewing area alongside 28 though. Love when 34/16 is in use.

A330 going by at ~3500 feet just now made some interesting 'eerie howling' sounds as it headed north to the airport :P - interaction with the wind or something?

RWY 28 was used for EI121 (DUB-MCO) and EI129 (DUB-YYZ) AND now it seems like RWY 16 is back in use again. (AF1816 on approach)

Check in a minute and you'll see a picture of it taken from my front garden in black and white on the pictures thread.

You mean R34. Perfect day for a visual approach.

Nice to see them coming in right over your head. There is a great video vantage point at the far end of the runway (at the Naul Roundabout), with a perfect view along the runway centreline.

Looking at Calina's lovely shot it's a Trent-engined one; the RAF Voyagers with Trents also do an impressive howl on approach but the Aer Lingus GE ones don't.

I wonder if it's something to do with the triple-spool of the Trent engines.

A B763 out of Kuwait passing Wexford and descending, possibly to Shannon? Unknown details on FR.

    Interesting flight path avoiding Iraq.

If its going to Shannon, its 90% likely that its an Omni air.
I can hear him talking to Shannon control, hes will be going there.

If its an onmi, than it carries US troops and thats why they avoided iraq.

Cheers, are they always blocked on FR.

When they are containing troops they usually are. If they dont have the U.S army on board they can often be seen on FR.

is there any particular reason why those flights are not direct to the US?

would have thought that the 767 would be able to fly that route non stop...

I would imagine it's got a lot of baggage onboard as a solider going overseas I wouldn't like to be told I could only take X amount of Kgs as baggage

Id say the planes dont have the range tbh. A 767-300ER can fly 7400 ish km, whereas the distance between Kuwait and Baltimore (Which is often where the omni's go) is over 10,000km.

Lucky buggers on incoming flights to Dublin are landing on Runway 34... been about a year since I've seen that.

Edit: Any videos of Runway 34 landings floating around? Cant find any.

I'm happily running out to the front garden armed with a camera at opportune moments. Won't have much longer for it though.

The pics in your second photo thread post also from the garden? Nice.

I just wish there were a few more larger craft coming in (>737/A320) :(
(Of course if there were and this flight path were used all the time it might wear thin :P)

Yeah, I spent a lot of the day running in and out for choice moments.

Most times that we hear them, it's late at night. It's unusual enough to have them all day long on a sunny nice for photography day.

I've just taken my last one for the day as I'm clean out of reasonable light. Last one was a Lufthansa in Star Alliance colours. Not sure what it looks like yet.

Very sorry I missed the Emirates at 11 this morning - flatmate says it was really low.

Not sure when I'll next get a chance I suppose.

Back on topic, we saw a couple of DAA vehicles around 28 today - when did they start appearing?
