I'm talking as a whole with Midfield ONWARDS which I said.

on top of that midfield giggs beckham etc, Yorke, cole sheringham solskjaer, yorke and cole were arguably the best strike force in Europe, you couldn't say that about our strikers now

He does seem to be adapting well to the role. Although his attacking play leaves much to be desired. but maybe it might end up being a successful case of utilising someone who arguably looked well on his way. Young similarly.

Oddly enough I don't overly fear him getting smoked by a Hazard or a Navas pace wise, might just have concerns about his covering ability. But fair play to him and Young, got given opportunities and have taken them.

A young RB from Salford joined the u21 side. Janko into the senior squad anyone? Been decent anytime I've seen him. Anyone think he could make the step up?

Sadiq El Fitouri has signed for #mufc from Salford City, with the young right-back set to link up with the U21 squad: http://bit.ly/1ETPr4L

From what I've seen of Janko, he's almost a carbon copy of Valencia...

I don't think we are in a position to be calling players up. Would much prefer Valencia

Would fear this big time if we played 4-4-2

It still has to be proven one way or the other, because so far we haven't seen him tested very often. But for me it's plausible that the manager could have confidence in his defensive abilities at this stage.

Anyone, and I mean anyone, would be better than Valencia at RB/RW. I'm all for Janko playing. Valencia is infuriating. Would also love to see Pereira get some first team action.

i had big hopes for janko but against the mk dons he was awful not ruling him out over 1 performance but not sure its the right time to put him in if he gets found out big time and not helped by a solid rest of the defence then it could kill his confidence permanently

Weird seeing us let Fletcher go. I know he hasn't had much impact on the pitch and is down he pecking order but an experienced guy who no doubt was a presence in the dressing room. Was a great player for us pity he had some horrid times with illness. Going to be strange seeing him play in another club shirt! Lots of people forget he came up all the way from the youths!

Flectcher hasn't been a viable option for us for over four years now, thats a long, long time in football terms. Its no surprise at all if he finally moves on.

Well his illness did cut his playing time but I would have thought since he has been such a great service to the club they would keep him on this year for mainly dressing room presence and helping some of the younger lads.

If he was retiring soon I reckon that would have happened so he must have made it clear that he wants to continue playing but will have to look elsewhere for opportunities. Would have been nice to see him finish his career with us and then move into a possible coaching role.

Fletcher probably knew himself that it was time to move on if he was to have any chance of playing regular football again.

LVG more or less said he moved to get some game time, he was more or less told his chances were limited so the club facilitated him leaving. Seeing how few games he has played last 3 years I can see why he wanted to.

Personally I think the whole dressing room experience thing is always overstated, just how many old heads hanging around does a club need? There are plenty of players in their late twenties/early thirties at the club, one more won't make a difference.

Besides, an older player hanging on when its clear he is never going to get a game will eventually become a figure of pity rather than a figure of respect.

Southampton manager Koeman has said we haven't made any offers for Clyne this window.

If we could just sign a decent rb that can cross or do something positive with the ball that would be great LVG

Grand job. Might take the day and go fishing instead so. Shouldn't be hard to catch a fish with such a selection out there.

The Metro, reporting via Spanish sources, who are reporting via English sources, are reporting that the Hummels deal is nearly finalized.
