Can anyone who went to Antwerp recently to pick up an engagement ring, tell me did they take cash with them or pay by card and is it still possible to get a cash discount over there?

    Thanks

Yeah, best off to bring cash you get a better deal that way.

    Cash all the way.

Just make sure to avoid the fluorescent lit jewellers around the station and the main sq.

We dealt with joe Katz http://www.jkatz.be/ he's based in the diamond bank, very professional guy and has only a very small selection of certified diamonds so you know you are getting quality. Being based in the diamond bank means that he can get specific stones in to suit your budget with out too many problems. The ring we purchased has been valued at more than double what we paid for it.

We called into one of the jewellers on the main st for a look. In the space of 30 seconds the price of one specific ring was reduced from 14800 to 5600 to 4500! I asked the guy if it was certified and he pulled out a blank form and said yes, the we fill in this on behalf of the city of Antwerp....DODGE.

Once we purchased the ring we went on the beer in both Antwerp and Brugge, great few days.

Be careful though, most of the proper dealers don't open on Sunday
