Hi all, hope you guys can help me with this.
Recently the "engine coolant level low please top up" showed on central display while the coolant level light in dashboard came on. On checking found that level had in fact dropped to the lower limit; topped it up to max, kept running normally, then after maybe ten days again the same thing happened. Checked all the reachable hoses attached to radiator, expansion tank and also thermostat housing, but all look dry and secure.

However noticed that when touching the thermostat housing itself it feels kid of wobbly; and on further inspection noticed some coolant water settled on top of gearbox underneath battery and hence thermostat. suspecting leak is caused by thermstat housing

I ran engine to check, but no leakages were seen. I ran engine for more than 15 minutes to make sure it heats up and so thermostat kicks in, but all looked ok.

Any hints on how I should troubleshoot further this problem. Many thanks.

Has there been engine work that may have affected the housing?

In effect yes biko. Just recently I had clutch changed, and leak happened just after that. I asked my mechanic if any hoses could have been effected by his work but he said no, but had himself hinted that it could be a thermostat housing problem, as like he said peugeot 307 suffer from such defect....
