    Addendum:

5k PB of 23:35 according to Strava which is a great boost as I know I could go faster than that.

Also forgot to mention someone shouted out my name on the coast road near the left turn back up the hill. Turned around a few seconds later after it registered and all I could see was what looked like a 7ft tall dude with his back to me so if that was you RedRunner apologies for ignoring you. Was in full concentration at that stage.

Yep was in the boards top. Someone did give a shout out on the coast road just before the left turn up the hill if that's where you were ? Sorry didn't recognise anyone out there.

That would have been RR. I saw him too (marshalling?) as I was trundling around that corner.

I can confirm that was me!:)

Well done today P. Delighted for you. I just caught the back of you in the Boards T-Shirt and reckoned it was you so gave a shout out in the hope it was. You were going well at that stage. Great to see you progressing.

    That's an awesome result PM.
    Well done.

Just thought you might like to know I ran 38:26 in Raheny two years ago, so you shouldn't be long having a go at a sub 3 marathon ;).

That's actually quite inspiring P. Very good to know.

Yes, I agree it should be ok, it will probably hurt though :) and no doubt rise up to 195ish up the hill on the last mile. Who knows you might just discover 200 isn't even your max at all ;)

As usual Meno you were bang on. :) Heart rate hit 206 on the finishing straight.

Ha yeah. Not sure about the strong part but I've never been so determined in a race than I was when that photo was taken :)

3.1 miles (OCD for the 5K) tonight @ easy 9:48 min mile pace. Legs very tender from Sunday but sub 10 min mile pace was so so easy verus the 7:40 from the weekend. Gotta love the easy / recovery runs after a race. They're always a boost when they feel so easy.

Yaboya1 has dangled a carrot in front of me which is the Enniscorthy 10k on Sunday week. Current PB is 53:20 which is damn soft. Reckon sub 49 would be very doable. My first ever 10k was 68:08 so even looking at sub 50 is a great feeling of progress too.

    Thursday 29th
Slow and easy watchless 3.5 miles approx. Pace unknown but I reckon it was in and around 10:30 pace. Ran for a quick loop of a local route in between snow showers.

    Saturday 31st

    4 miles @ 8:29 avg pace
Was meant to be a long run but time went completely against me with work and family do commitments squeezing the time available. Elected to get out for a quick run at a bit of pace anyway.

    Monday 02nd
    4 miles @ 8:41 avg pace
Again a 4 mile quickie at a little bit of pace. Felt easy enough though which was very surprising considering I was out until 4am watching the superbowl ! One eye on Enniscorthy this weekend though so kept the pints count down a bit. :pac:

I'm meeting MKDTH for a 5 mile easy run tomorrow afternoon which will give the legs a bit of a break from the (relatively for me) faster stuff.

    Enniscorthy 10k thoughts
All feedback I've gotten says 49 is a bit soft of an aim. Yaboya1 has an interesting handicap analysis and reckons 47 is more realistic even with the tough enough hilly course. He's not the only one who said 47 or under should be the aim so will go out and give it a go at that target. Once Enniscorthy is over really need to knuckle down for the Bohermeen half as I'm missing too many long runs now.

So the latest odds from Mr Bookie himself put me down as a 10/1 shot for Sunday's handicap race. Seems about righr to me ! :)
