    Background:

    The small eastern european state of Slovenska is in the grip of a military coup d'état just two days after an attempted cabinet reshuffle following months of political upheaval. General J. Patov officially announced the coup on television, flanked by military leaders and the Slovenskan police chief as security forces attempted to detain key party leaders and suspend the constitution. The move was said to be an effort to restore order and institute political reform after six months of political chaos and violence which Patov said was mainly due to inherent corruption and citizen disillusionment in the current leadership.

    Many former Government leaders have made it safely out of the country but ousted Prime Minister Istvan Novik is reportedly gone into hiding with a close protection unit in the hills outside the capital. Istvan’s billionaire brother Kamil Novik, an Oligarch who left the country almost a decade ago has vowed to help restore the old regime and to get his brother to safety. Kamil left Slovenska after an investigation into dubious oil contracts began in 2005. After Kamil left focus shifted to other party members of the time before the investigation ended without any convictions. Reports suggest that Kamil has already been in talks with one of the largest private military contracting firms in the northern hemisphere Sword Security Solutions in what is believed to be the rescue of his brother and the possible interference with Patov’s hold on Slovenska.
