I don't know if you realise it but you come across as a contemptuous, know it all, atheistic fascist.
And I say that as an atheist myself.
So do you have a point to make about his statement or is ad hom posts your speciality. Saying things that are unpopular does not make them untrue.

My catholic nun aunt who lives in a convent is an atheist my friend.

This is what hacks me off about the language. People throw around the words atheist Fascist and Militant, meaning atheists who talk freely about their position. On the other hand a militant Xian/Muslim is someone who uses military force to impose their position on others or control their lives.

People get the idea that there are Militant atheists and militant Xians so they they are the same.

    Vocal atheist is more accurate.

I do get a laugh when the worst that can be said about atheists as a group is that some of them are pricks.
There are some who may want to get rid of religion completely but they are all talk.

There are lots of atheists who would like to see a world where the majority of people are secular, but the vast majority of those want to achieve this through reason, education, dialogue and scientific progress, not through any kind of violence or coercion.

(Unfortunately, there would be some times where some measure of force is required, for example, if the parents of a sick child refuse to consent to life saving treatment due to religious objections, the state may have an obligation to over-rule the parents and administer the treatment to the child, but these are the kinds of difficult moral dylemmas that are part and parcel of a modern society trying to balance competing freedoms and rights in a complex world.)

    T
    Vocal atheist is more accurate.
Absolutely correct. There is a definite equivocation going on when labeling atheists, where a very different meaning is applied to other groups with that adjective.
A militant christian is usually quite different to what is described as a militant atheist. There CAN be (using the word fairly) people acting militantly who are atheists, like in Stalinist Russian, but currently theists like to use that for ANYONE who is known as an atheist and does not curry favour from the religious side. If writing a post on the internet makes one militant, when not advocating anything violent or a call for violence, then anyone with any strong belief, once expressed, is suddenly militant. It dilutes the actual word so much that it becomes nothing more than a slur, rather than having any descriptive power worth noting.

Atheists are on a one track road to hell, the great thing about being an ulsterman is that it is a strong Christian land. I urge all atheists to repent before it is too late.

Tis only lunchtime, sure I've plenty of time yet. What time does the repentance shop close? Six?

It could be argued atheists are already in a hell of their own making!

That's a fair point. I prefer to describe atheists who go on and on and on as a pain in the àrse.

Could you provide us with a road map showing this one track road? You seem to be familiar with the geography.

Jayzawz, when it's not one it's the other. Keep away from that Ulster fry.

A very simple argument shrouded in verbose nonsense.

You believe or you don't, or maybe you're not sure and don't consider it particularly important.

Congratulations on your choice, now if the rest of us could finish our pint/newspaper/coffee/cigarette etc in peace that would be marvellous.

I believe "crashing bore" is the correct term for "vocal" atheists and proseltysing theists alike.

Hell is the 'heaven' as described in the Bible
There is a constant chant of holy angels that are continually proclaiming Holy, Holy, Holy over the throne of God. The Mercy Seat in heaven where God sits is surrounded by magnificent angels full of glory and power that proclaim and bless the holy name of God without ceasing. Some of these are described as beasts, full of eyes, with six wings and neither rest day or night in their proclaiming the holiness of God (Rev. 4:8-11).

On my first return visit to Ireland after leaving as a small child, many moons ago, I was absolutely gobsmacked to see the Angelus on TV. I thought Songs of Praise was pushing it, but the Angelus malarkey really takes the biscuit. Between that and the fact that there are actual Garth Brooks fans in Ireland, it makes me a little bit sad inside for the nation.

I comment as a Roman Catholic, not the bible belt sort of Christian. It has always been the Christian powerhouse of the island, dating back to st patrick times

Nothing says Christian like burning fellow Christians out of their house.
If anything ulster highlights the problems of religion in this country.

Atheists are on a one track road to hell.
Better to reign in hell than serve in heaven, but seeing as neither exist I'll settle for a quick painless death, or failing that, a long and painful one.

What kind of sick bastard would do something like that?

I prefer the analogy of God as a dictator. If you dare oppose him and his political party, then you're tortured forever.

Don't forget throwing rocks, blast bombs and urine filled balloons at primary school children for the offence of walking down the wrong road on the way to school. Gotta love that christian attitude

"During our visit we met with members of the parents‚ committee who outlined to us in vivid detail the horrendous hardships endured by the school children during that period. Apart from the verbal abuse, parents and children had also to endure a range of missiles being thrown at them, ranging from blast bombs, dogs excreta and balloons filled with urine. The parents also expressed fears of lasting trauma for their children as a result of the events of recent months.
