Samsung S5 - blacklisted?

A friend of mine bought a Samsung Galxy S5 from Adverts last month. Since yesterday there's no network on the phone but the 3g data is still working fine.

He is trying to contact the seller but so far no luck.

The phone may be blacklisted for non payment for bills or insurance claim.

Now the question is - A blacklisted phone will still work on 3g or there's something else wrong with the phone?

Is there any way to definately find out of a phone is barrred? The phone seems to be originally on o2 network.

http://www.imeidetective.com/?language=en. See if that checks if the phone is blacklisted.

try checkmend.com

There is a charge for it but its the most reliable. Many shops use it that buy phones.

Also remember to use the UK version.

i had this a while back on a M8 - first phone signal droped only data left then in 24hrs nothing at all. Sounds like you may have a blacklisted phone to me... Hopefully wrong or you get it sorted -

It's not looking good. Sounds like the same symptoms.
