    Of course he is!

Apparently Shaw and RVP are fit for Cambridge, according to the official website.

On Valdes, the boss continued: "I find it unbelievable how the media can write that. I don't want to say anthing about my line-up until three quarters of an hour before the game."

    http://www.manutd.com/en/News-And-Features/Football-News/2015/Jan/robin-van-persie-and-luke-shaw-available-in-manchester-united-team-news-for-cambridge-fa-cup-match.aspx?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=post&utm_campaign=ManUtd

Hopefully Valdes gets the start. Will be interesting to see him in United colors.

3-5-2 is here to stay for this season..
Van Gaal also reiterated his point about needing to find the right "balance" in his team for each different oppponent. "We have played the 4-4-2 diamond shape for five or six games and we have created a lot of chances, but we have also conceded a few goals against us and that is the balance of the team," he told MUTV. "At this moment I am strict on our philosophy. Everyone has to perform in that philosophy."

Not a hope that we will start playing well with the same players and system. More frustrating games for United fans.

Don't be so sure. Arsenal and Southampton are on form and Liverpool are playing well too. On top of that Spurs are winning games on trot.

We're back up to 2nd in the money league with revenues of €518m from last season. If we make the top 4 this season there's a real chance we'll be back on top in two years time with the massive boost from the kit deal.

That'll largely depend how long Mourinho stays at Chelsea. They already have an excellent squad. Cuadrado is an absolutely outstanding player too.

We'll have to have some amazing transfer windows to compete with them. With his motivational skills, and his eye for a player, they could dominate for a long time.

The big investments he makes are generally top drawer.

Nothing annoys me more in a manager than stubbornness. If he sticks with that formation and those defenders then he's digging his own grave.

Don't think that's what he meant

Disappointing to hear hes going to stick with the 3.5.2 after recent performances, it could all end in tears at the end of the season

Cuadrado going to Chelsea would be an absolute disaster.

Wilson complemented Falcao well. I would like to see both start on Friday, with Rooney and RVP on the bench.
    Valdes
    Rafael* - Smalling - Rojo - Blind
    Carrick
    Herrera - Di Maria**
    Mata
    Wilson - Falcao

    *Assuming he's fit
**Maybe rest and give Perierra or Januzaj a chance.
di maria could do with the game time to get back to full match fitness but i was disappointed that perierra wasnt given some game time as i thought he was fairly good when he came on against mk dons but hasnt seen any game time since.

With the players we have, you'd think that by now they would have got used to the system and start playing some good football but that just not happening.
G.Nev was 100% correct in his analysis the other day. 352 with the players we have slows down the tempo of the game and causes us to play too many safe passes with no result.

If we get knocked out of the FA Cup and don't end up in Top 4 I hope the club doesn't end up getting rid of LVG. His past record does say that his first season with a new club doesn't go great but then things really do turn around the next season

    No not really

Yeah he'd only be strengthening the best team in the league in their weakest position I guess...

I don't really want us to sign Cuadrado because it would reinforce 352 but I don't want him to go to Chelsea either because he would replace Willian and he is better player from what I've seen attacking and defending

Cuadrado playing on the right over valencia. Yes please

Id say the 352 is staying because no defenders were bought and he dosent trust the ones we have to deal with the other teams. This formation gives us a more solid defense.

We can't rely on our attackers bailing us out and being lucky. We were extraordinary lucky for that streak.

If we can just bridge that gap between defense and attack and play more risky passes in the current formation we should be ok. Far too many safe passes being floated about. Just too much sitting on our holes until the 75th minute.
The only difference between this formation and the diamond is we have a man less in midfield.

I would much prefer 4 at the back but can see where lvg is coming from. It's a safe formation to play because our team is so attack heavy and our defenders can be ****e.

This exclusiveivity for MUTV on written press conferences starting to annoy me.

Yes but he won us a league and the 20 odd million is nothing compared to the extra title in the record books.

Short term thinking. One title is not as important as sustainable succes.
    Deiseboy01 wrote: »
Buying him did not preclude us buying other players.

Yes it did. We do not have infinite money.
    Deiseboy01 wrote: »
Plus he was better than Berb, Chico and Welb. Madrid would never consider a purchase like that, neither should we.

Madrid are the prime example of how you can waste money by being overly concerned with big name signings. If United follow the Madrid model the operation will go bust within a decade.

Smalling and Evans both injured again. Can we please just ship them out for the love of god?

Jeez Louise. Why can't we just get rid of them and splash every last penny to get a decent cb partnership such as Hummels and Vlaar or maybe even Rojo as it is still early to decide whether he can go on to be a great CB at the club. But if the window ends without a CB brought in, I will be seriously doubtful of us getting into the top 4

Really impressed with Rojo, it's nice to have another physical defender there again, ala Vidic. Also our best ball playing CB by a long shot. Someone mentioned it here yesterday but if we continue with 3 at the back, I'd like to see Carrick in the centre between Rojo and Jones, then pushing into the midfield when we attack. Obviously if we don't buy a CB, but all reports seem to suggest we'll go all out for Hummels, but in the summer.

It is the same for every club. there is an embargoed part of the press conference to protect the written press. Nothing to do with MUTV

Tony Pulis let it slip at his presser that Fletcher is talking to 4 clubs about a move when asked about him joining WBA.

Not common knowledge at all that he is talking to Valencia, few papers reported but most took it with pinch of salt.
