Abbreviations used on courts.ie

Hi,

Can anyone tell me what the various abbreviations used in case details on courts.ie mean?
I can't find a glossary for them!

Some examples: TRA; JDL; JDT; FMO; ADR.
The above all appear either under Result or Note in the Listings tab of cases.

I've worked out PL (Plaintiff), SO (Struck Out), RES (Reserved), NOM (Notice of Motion).

I'd appreciate any explanations or if someone could point me to a glossary.

There's no glossary because these shorthand notes are written in by the registrar who was present and each registrar has their own shorthand.

You just have to try and figure them out.

Sometimes, the rest of the note gives context. In your examples, I'd say:

TRA - transferred (to another list/judge); JDL - ?; JDT - judgment; FMO - for mention only; ADR - ?

Could be typos but others might be able to work out JDL and ADR.

I'd say so yep.

I'd say JDL is Judges' List

ADR= Alternative Dispute Resolution.

Umbrella term for arbitration, mediation, conciliation, expert adjudication, etc.

Commercial court is keen on encouraging parties to engage in it. Other big area would be family law.
