David De Gea is not leaving for 35 million

It doesn't matter if that's a "good" offer based on what other keepers go for, 35 million is nothing to United compared with what they'd lose

Well they could lose him a year later for nothing so 35 million is a good realistic offer with 1 year left. It all depends on what he wants. If he says he wants to go then selling him for 35 million is alright.

Wouldn't take Ronaldo and €50m for DDG

He's not for sale at any price.

    Hmmmm....

Maybe not fat Ronaldo but if it's Cristiano you're talking about well all I can say is I hope you're not in charge of any of uniteds transfer dealings

We all love De Gea and if he wants to stay then I'm sure he will but if he wants to go then he can go. Same for any player.

Not really, he could have just brought on another defender in a straight swap.

Say what you want, but LVG is not afraid to make subs early if needed.
Evans and Mata were shocking in the first half, so rightfully substituted.

Evans was one of the better players in the first half. Calling him shocking is ridiculous and based around one half mistake.

Evans has been shocking all season for a 27 year old who should be in his prime, he should of stepped up this season.

I honestly wouldn't be too bothered if Evans, Smalling and Jones were all replaced by the Summer. No confidence in any of them at this stage.

Robbie Savage said the same and I wasn't even surprised by that comment. The three of them are not good enough on the ball, injury prone and always likely to make mistakes. It's no wonder Vidic and Rio were our main CBs last year.

Yep, ship them out, should be a lot more assured & developed at this stage. None of them are comfortable in any match lately. 2 new CBs would be a vast improvement to the team.
Might hold onto to Smalling at a push.

I would like to see one of them go anyhow and keep 2 as backup, and play Rojo and Hummels or someone in the back 4 and buy a new right back.

The team isn't going to get better if you're shipping half of them out every season. Evans has played in all 3 of the back 3 positions this season and that can't be easy as they're all quite different roles to each other.

But the errors he's been making have nothing to do with where he has played in the back three, it's his concentration. He's been caught dawdling on the ball in nearly every game he's played. That's lack of concentration and application. It's infuriating. It's like he's playing on Valium when it happens to him.

I do agree with your first point though.

He's been beyond sh*te in them all, I defended him enough on here over the years but he just doesn't look up to it anymore, always good for a stupid error and has seemingly lost his composure completely, looks amateur-like in possession.

But then Rojo and Carrick made schoolboy errors yesterday too and there's nobody calling them shocking.

I think a team loses something when they sell someone who's come up through the ranks and has shown that given a proper run to be at worst a very useful backup player. Your post is more suited to Smalling I think. I like Jones too, so it's only Smalling I'd be getting rid of out of the 3.

A few years ago Evans was almost forcing Rio or Vidic out of the team, he looked very impressive.

This season has been poor though

Neither Carrick or Rojo have looked so consistently inept in possession as Evans and neither are making such high profile mistakes so regularly either. Anyone can have an odd slip up here and there, especially in a team not functioning too well but there's a point where you have to say f*ck that, this is just not acceptable to continue with.

Yep, and you will find plenty of posts from me across this forum bigging him up and telling people how underrated he is, he hasn't pushed on, he's regressed so much.

Rojo has pace and isn't as easily turned.

Once Evans is turned, he's not able to get back

In possession Evans is great. On another planet to Smalling and Jones. In all the games Smalling played as the centre CB did he ever drive forward like Evans did yesterday? One of the main jobs of that position if it's a top team imo. Evans has been playing the most difficult role of the 3 at the back for a right footer this season and struggled but if either of the other 2 were there I'm sure shocking would be an understatement. If anything his ability on the ball has cost him games in his best position.

    .

One mix up,Rojo dominated Zamora who I'm sure Redknapp thought would have bullied our CB's.

Rojo is only 24,new to the English game and will improve,I've been happy with him so far,the same can't be said of our other CB's who seem to have stagnated.

I've already included Smalling and Jones with him as players I wouldn't be too bothered with leaving. Using them to strengthen Evans' case is pointless to me, all I'm getting from that is that you're saying he's the best of a very bad bunch. And so he should be considering he's got a few years on them both.

I'm a huge fan of Rojo and thought he was very good again yesterday, I was using him to show how calling Evans shocking was way OTT.

One thing I'm very happy about is Fellaini. He has been immense this season, not really getting the credit he deserves.

He's having a stinker of a season I wouldn't write him off completely though.

I still think injuries and formation have cost us more than poor players. We've only conceded 1 or 2 more than Chelsea and City.

If the masses give Fellaini credit it will be an admission of how wrong the 'get him out of the club' and 'nothing but a squad player we overpaid for' jibes were...and they were absolutely rampant.

A stinker of a week, a stinker of a month, a stinker of a few games. These I can handle, you shouldn't get to have a stinker of a season. It's why we still have Valencia in the team, it's why Nani and Anderson are still on the books. United need to be more ruthless, I'm fed up with holding on to mediocre players because they had a good season a few years back. We should be aiming for the best available in each position with the money available and wages offered. It's no use having a frontline of Falcao, Rooney, RvP, Di Maria and Mata with Jones Evans and Smalling at the back. Some of these lads would be laughed out of any of the big clubs on the continent.

    De Gea
    New RB--New CB-Rojo-Shaw
    Blind
    ---Strootman-Herrera
    Di Maria
    Rooney--Falcao

    Valdes
    Rafael-Smalling-Jones-New LB
    Carrick
    Fellaini--New CM
    Mata
    Wilson-RVP

For a squad of 22 - I reckon we could do with a new first choice Right Back, Centre Back, Strootman, and then a back up left back and another central midfielder.

Could then obviously see Mata and RVP leaving if not first choice. If Falcao wasn't signed up, another new striker.

Arsenal winning this is a disaster.
