Volvo S40 Dual Mass Fly Wheel replacement. Cost?

    Hi all.
    I've a Volvo S40 08 diesel & need to replace the DMF (& clutch) as she's rattling like a tractor.
    Had it priced at an indie and they said €1200.
    Thought this was a little steep.
    Has anyone had this done for a better price elsewhere in the Clare / Limerick / Galway area?

    €1200 is a bit expensive alright. Off the top of my head I think our price on them is €950 or so just as a comparison.

    It could be that the clutch is also being changed?
    Though I assumed that if you were changing the DMF the clutch had to be changed anyway?

    Yes most garages would quote for the whole lot to be changed. It doesn't make sense to replace the flywheel without the clutch.

    Full kit(flywheel and clutch kit) here in south east would be close enough to 900 fitted
