As above. Playing Sto at the moment. Its fun but my current set up wont run it at ultra with a decent fps.
Cpu is oc to 4.2 and gpu at 1050.
I didnt go mad with oc on them.
    8gb ram in system.

I cant work out is it the gpu holding me back or the cpu?
I know the 7870xt is not a current card and hasnt been for a while.

    Psu is 450w.

What would i have to replace/upgrade for most efficent upgrade without breaking the bank.

    Thanks in advance.

Not that intensive a game by googling the requirements - could be CPU though, given that it's unlikely the game scales across multiple threads and the Fx line has substandard per-thread performance.

7870XT is very decent so unless you're running at really high resolution, can't imagine the game would be terribly taxing to that extent of low fps. It recommends the 8800GT card and has a GT7950 as a minimum, the former being ancient by modern standards and the latter an absolute relic...

Strange one as the requirements are so low I couldn't imagine either being a bottleneck!

Thats what i thought too. Even the recomended cpu and gpu are not that powerful.

Am reinstalling amd driver suite as my pc will randomly start to a black screen or go to one a few mins after starting. Fans are on and lights are lit on case.
    After a reboot its fine.

Found a warning that aod driver was incorrectly installed. Hopefully that fixes it.

I ran CC registry cleaner and it fixed some issues it found but not this one.
