Best line up from those fit? I think that's the team. Forget about 3-5-2 for the moment.

I'd still have Evans ahead of Jones, though he limped off today I think. Made one mistake but was generally excellent with the ball.

Question of the day again, why is ADM in Rooney's position and vice-versa? Totally innefective from both due to this.

Yeah and I'd have Rafeal and Shaw in too but like Evans, they probably wont be available for the next game. Not to start at least.

Both are not up to standard. Evans once again showed why he shouldn't be here next season, not from his mistake, but the fact that he can't stay fit.

Rooney was atrocious all afternoon, I can't remember one pass he played into a United players feet. I can't help but feel he would've taken Falcaos chances though.

    The philosophy

On a serious note seeing Phil Jones taking corners must be one of the bizarre tactical decisions Van Gaal has come up so far

James Wilson can't take the smile off his face on MUTV - delighted for him!

He can't even complete simple passes, so why have him take corners? Very strange from LVG.

Happy with the win today, but had we lost LVG would have been in serious trouble.

The balance is even weaker with a 3-5-2 because we create sweet fukc all. What was with, 1 goal in 6 hours of PL football at some stage today? Utterly disgraceful.

. He is really beginning to irritate me with this stubborn attitude. Looks like we will be playing 3-5-2 again next week.

His mindset is epically different to SAF .. Outscoring teams be that 3,4 or 5 was always he train of thought.

I'd be willing, without having checked any stats, to say that the points per game and possibly even goals conceded per game would be better with 4 at the back this season.

I don't understand how with 4 midfielders, the team is unbalanced, yet with a winger at RWB, a DM at LWB, A striker in CM, A CM up front and a CAM playing CM makes the team balanced.

I would assume it is because LVG feels Rooney is the better defensive bet of the two, and we need that defensive ability within that two.

I would disagree though - as Rooney has been poor in CM. Read a stat saying he didn't have a single successful tackle in the 3 games up to and including Southampton. Something like that anyway. Di Maria wouldn't track back as much, but he does put a shift in and putting him in midfield and Rooney up top would provide a much better attacking balance.

I'd be expecting to see 3-5-2 again considering what we've seen so far. Hopefully LVG is fcuked out at the end of the season. This can't be considered good enough.

Anything said pre or post game re. Rafael and Shaw? I would assume both injured - and possibly a reason we didn't go to 4 at the back.

It's player's posting "action" pics of themselves which gives it away.

Yep. I'd be more worried by Falcao if he wasn't getting into positions to score. He should have had 3 today. Keep playing him and he'll start putting thrm away.

Love Wilsons goal the amount of critisism he was getting on here, another average performance from Falcao.

Result will sedate most of us I think, the less said about that first half the better. Question marks over LVG now.
I thought Falcao did well, unlucky not to score a couple.

Falcao was very good today. The only thing missing was a goal. Lots of endavour and effort. Making good runs into dangerous areas, fighting for the ball in MF, great attitude and asset to the team.

Green pulled off a couple of blinding saves and considering QPR's home record this season its not an easy place to go. He did great.

Peoeple will gush over Wilson becauses he came from the youths but Falcao looked ahead of any of our forwards today. The Wilson goal came when QPR over commited and he took two bites of the cherry to finish it, it wasn't great composure or finish imo, nothing against him but Falcao is the superior player and I hope he starts a lot.

I'd be livid if RVP just walk back into the starting XI at Falcaos expense.

He plays Di Maria up front because of his pace, he's said as much before.

It didn't work against Southampton and it didn't work today and he was as stubborn as a mule for taking so long to change it.

It only works when teams are pressing high up and there's space in behind. Di Maria is wasted with his back to goal.

Is that really the way we should be doing business? Van Gaal is building a team and next season may very well have built a team capable of playing 3-5-2. This season hasn't been perfect but we're well on track for top 4 which was all we really needed at the start of the season.

He's made some questionalbe decisions and there's been some poor performances but give the man a fúcking chance. I don't want to re-ignite the Moyes debate but who knows where we'd be if he'd been given a chance to continue. We'll never know as he wasn't given a proper go of it.
