Vodafone Throttling

I had experienced an issue with slow downloads and posted in the computers thread thinking I had an issue with my computer. http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2057357831

Now I definitely think there is an issue with Vodafone. So I have an account on uploaded.net and have been using that to download tv shows, when suddenly the speeds for downloading go down dramatically like dial up speed.

I thought initially that it was a problem with the line (which could still be the case) but I am getting good speeds on fibre being about 1600m from the cab.

It's taking between 40mins to 1/2 hours to download a 314MB file but it used to take 7-8 mins.

I have used ccleaner, malwarebytes etc and found no issue.

I downloaded a 818MB file from Google saved on my drive and it did it in about 10 mins or so which is pretty normal which led me to believe that its probably some interaction with uploaded.net

So I thought, I'd get a rapidgator account for 10 euro (pittance really) and amazingly tried a download and all was right with the world.....until about an hour ago after trying to download something else, over 2 hours waiting time for downloading a 365MB file.

So the question is, is Vodafone throttling my speeds or bottlenecking speeds for certain sites? And how do I go about fixing it?

I found this post on the eircom forum and it had a test called speedof.me and it gave me:

Whereas when I try and run the download on testmy.net, it gets stuck on Test3 downloading 88.1 MB of data.

I ran a speedtest.net test and used a server in London and its comparable to the speed I get in my original post.

    Hi,
I am having similar issues but am with Eircom, my download speed can fluctuate between 70KB/Sec and 330KB/Sec during the same download. Can you tell me what free VPN you are using, I think I might try this.

Look up Hola VPN and you should find it, I was using it through UK and am getting better download speeds than not connecting through it!

Had been connecting through a UK VPN but that speed has significantly slowed down too. Started using the French one and speed is back to normal!?
