Also. If someone passes the IST, are they automatically given a date for stage 2?

There have been 8 squads called to date.I think 42 is the number theyre after per squad but for whatever reason that falls short each time.

Id hazard a guess that around 300 have gone through the gates.

If you take into account the 40 in January intake and 42 in Feb there would be under 40 spaces left to make the 378. The squad numbers prior to Sep 14 are online somewhere on the PSNI web page because someone posted a link before.

    Like I said :)

The previous poster said that 9 squads had been called so far taking up the full 378 places.

The 42 in Feb have not been called up thus far.Just clarifying!!

I was factoring in the 42 for February and it's 42 in january aswell

Guessing the differential is caused by people dropping out post induction (too late to replace) and people dropping out while in gv for various reasons

So as of next week therr will have been 378 offers

You have to take into account that some people have quit and others have been put out. Also some people with high AC scores will be back in the running if they pass PCA second time round.

yes but for those like myself who royally fcuked up the ist, is there any hope of a new campaign starting again?

I wouldn't think so. The 1405 campaign should keep things going for a while for now. The intention seems to be to keep recruitment going though so can never say never!

What does this mean for people who were not successful in the May campaign. Do we get a second chance?

No man i just want to know if this means recruitment is going to reopen again because i am seriously cracking the **** up here at home. I just signed on the dole and i hate it. I cant get a fecking job at all and im thinking about joinng the british army so i wont be sitting at home scratching my arse for the next three years.... I dont mean to break any rules

The recent media reports seem to suggest that the budget agreements will now enable PSNI to continue with the recruitment plans. The recruitment plans announced around October were to finish up 13090 campaign, appoint 378 from 14050 campaign and to also open up a third drive this month.

At very least, I can imagine the agreements will enable 378 to be taken from campaign two. Although there are still cuts of around 3% if I remember right, I really wouldn't be surprised if they open the third campaign this year though.

    Just my opinion, of course.

Certainly from the budget perspective it does look better than before Christmas, the next policing board meeting is February 5th so I'd imagine psni will make an announcement at it in regards to how the extra money will be allocated, fingers crossed this extra money will accelerate campaign 2 a good bit. I'd imagine at the very least they'd say theyll be recruiting the full 378 rather than the 100 mentioned in December. It has been mentioned in papers up here recently that recruitment will continue as hoped before the budget crisis which again is positive. Depending on your AC score id imagine theyll send PCA dates and vetting forms for Grade A*s by the end of January (would make sense seeing how long the security clearances can take) if they're wanting to start intake 1 in May. I'm sorry to hear about your misfortunes but hopefully all this waiting will pay off tenfold for you and once the PCA dates start being issued its somewhat easier (although not always accurate) to guess when the next stages will occur

Don't know probably won't find out till next policing board meeting. It could mean another campaign or it could mean that instead of just taking 100 from campaign 2 as they earlier said due to budget cuts, they're now going to take 300 odd can't remember exact figure. A 3rd campaign could happen maybe next year or later this year but there is no guarantee as they did stop it before.

Don't get yourself down about your situation and try an look at the positive impact you can make on your life at the moment. You probably have the most time at the moment that you will ever have to develop yourself. Think about plenty of training, running and body weight training is great if you don't use a gym. Do some volunteering etc to build your cv and skill set. I find so often wishing away days and even years waiting for something makes life pass us by so quickly so enjoy the time you have to do things now as you will look back when doing back to back shifts when you get into the psni in the future thinking these days weren't so bad! Hope you get sorted with something in the meantime and best of luck!
