There's been no evidence so far this season that we will sign Falcao permanently and today only furthers my suspicions :(

Sky saying Di Maria is playing centrally behind RVP? This could be savage!

Really hope we play well as well as get the win. We have played some woeful ball of late apart from small patches

    So many central players...

So according to Sky, Di Maria's best position now isn't wide but up the middle/just-off-the-striker-but-not-too-high-up-the-pitch.

    :pac:

The Chinese have a version of our next shirt for sale already, doubt it'll be anything like the official release but for €14,it'd do for 5 a side.

Looks like a 90s Liverpool and 90s Arsenal shirts molded into one

Good points by Hoddle on Carrick on Sky. "He needs pictures in front of him-(ie. movement & options),now with Di Maria,Falcao etc. he has this whereas before he hadn't & ended up always playing the ball square".

It's no surprise that he's so improved since we upped the quality around him.

    Rojo comes straight back in.

Shows how LVG rates Smalling and Evans

If Rojo gets caught out by a ball over his head,he tries his hardest to rescue the situation, the other two don't.How many times have you seen them wave their arms in the air as the opposition score-looking at you Jonny.

You can only laugh at how pathetic our attacking play is with the personnel on the pitch. Chipping balls into the box seems to be the order of the day, really???

So much for this. Slow turgid football again. We arent good to watch at all

So boring. Wing backs are isolated and nulified as usual. And our midfielders just get muscled out of it or their touch deserts them.

Mata annoys me in midfield due to the fact he constantly gets caught out by a player coming from behind him and knickin the ball off him. Surely you have to realise you have no time so stop dilly dallying.

Can we forget about Falcao, buy a CM and put Rooney up front where he is supposed to be?

    Ander Herrera. ;)

Rooney in CM is just a joke, he does not have the intelligence for it. Stupid ****ty balls 90% of the time, he's an instinct player and needs to be up top, just can't do the cm role in any way reliable.

Swap Rooney and Di Maria and it would benefit both hugely.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,492 ✭✭✭Quandary

Di Maria is too far forward to influence the game. He is our most dangerous player and needs to be on the ball or involved in link ups to cause damage.
Rooney is passing the ball terribly and he is not a midfielder.
Valencia is seeing far too much of the ball considering his limitations when it comes to creative threat.
Mata is getting knocked off of every ball, and apart from one amazing run toward the end of the half he has done very poorly.

    I hate 3-5-2.

Rooney playing awful but he should be up front. Mata too slow. Bring on Herrera for Mata and swap di Maria with Rooney and we might have some chance of scoring.

After six months of it who's fault is that?

Shocking management by LVG to be fair. Rooney in midfield... No falcao... 3-5-2.... Takes off DiMaria...

The whole game has been as a result of poor management and utd dont deserve anything from this.

Its been a constant theme this season to be fair.

Not one half decent chance created at home to Southampton.

    This is some abysmal shít.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,446 ✭✭✭glued

Van Gaal isn't organising this team. 3-5-2 hasn't worked, isn't working and will continue to not work. Another crap performance. Let's stop waxing lyrical about everything he does.

Rooney has been absolutely useless again today.

    Muck
