I'm not sure this really is a bargain, but I'm sure it will start an interesting discussion. If there were 25 Blu-rays for 85 it surely would be a bargain.

You own these... you can download them, but you can only play them on an Apple device. Will there always be an apple device to play them on...?

That is a US link but the moves are shown on my ATV for 84.99.

And I guess there might be valid concerns about the quality with the total download being only 108Gb.

    Well a Blu-Ray is 4.7Gb (maximum) so 25 x 4.7 = 117.5Gb. Means these are on average 4.32Gb.
Can't see that being of any concern.

What format are they in? They could be converted by Freemake, I suppose.

4.7GB is a single layer DVD - never really used for commercial movies; only short (and inherently SD) ones.

Blurays are 25 or 50GB with the 4K version going to be 100GB...

Compression has improved hugely from DVD to Bluray and again since but 4.3GB for a HD movie is a LOT less than a Bluray.

Holy crap. I never knew that. Thanks.

Shows how long it's been since I even looked at a physical disc!!

I was lucky enough to get the Blu-ray 50th Anniversary on Amazon's Black Friday for €95, a great price :)
