    "Need to divert to Shannon"
"Shannon not an option, is Cork good from a company point of view?"
"Were on our way to Shannon, Cork not an option"
    "Copy"

    Brilliant

    What's the wind direction though?

Ah, southwest but the runways are heading into it so no crosswinds. Thanks.

There is something wrong with this footprint of aircraft heading the wrong way :)

Interesting to see all the same.

Don't ask me for the flight sign, but EI. Wanted to divert to Shannon but was told it would be bad from a handling pov, would you like to go to Cork from a company pov??

Captain said no, Cork winds not good either, he's going to Shannon and will take the consequences re handling.

He is the boss. And rightly so.

It really wasn't a negative conversation.

Shamrock 779 potentially going to Cork in a bit

Last aircraft to land reported bumpy down to 500ft, slightly better after that

Shannon will have at least 9 diversion. Who was the smart ass at atc (or elsewhere) who said it was full earlier?

Did anyone in ATC say that? Aer Lingus Ops have said it was full from an ops point of view for them, i.e. not enough Shamrock staff there to handle them. Though SNN may actually be full shortly :p

It was Aerlingus ground ops who said they didnt have enough room/staff in Shannon.

Loads of room but no one to turn around the plane or passengers.

Yesh, sure there are loads of old runways they could park on, but no staff to look after pax.

It would be Aer Lingus operations, not ATC at all.

Someone might have to wake NOC and KIR staff and offer them overtime.

    This too shall pass.
