In the UK media, there is extraordinary hype imo. Plenty of the Sky pundits laud over these lads, and plenty of newspaper journalists too.

Probably having some Tuesday frustrations. By now I've gone through all my podcasts, and there was plenty of over hyped garbage surrounding Wellbeck, Ings and Berahino that's obviously had me seething all day.

Herein lies the problem I think, there are more people spouting ****e that decent opinions these days. I've blanked out a lot of these opinions so maybe that why I havnt heard the hype surrounding those players.

On Welbeck he has 7 in 23 which isnt great, I'd still have him over Falcao though as he usually brings a lot to his side when he's not scoring. RVP has 8 in 19 and hasn't played on the wing like Welbeck has for comparison.

    ...................Mata...................

What's the deal with Shaw? Thought he had an ankle injury?

Would order to swap Jones and McNair there as well.

It could go either way, but Mark Ogden at the Telegraph reckons he'll win the fitness battle in time for Sunday.

the funny thing is they are not some unique talent. There are tons of players like that out there.

Have little bursts of form and bag a few goals for lower table/league sides, can't get any run of consistency and then fade away. And it's normally because they reach some milestone or personal goal, and can't be arsed to do anything after that.

Just look at the media crazy over the following in the UK, Wellbeck, Austin, Ings and Berahino, probably one or two more I'm forgetting. All have rising reputations while funnily not really having the goal scoring merits to back it up. Little bursts here and there for form.

It's when I look at the likes of that, I really hold appreciation for Rooney. This week I was reading how Gerrard should be praised as the only England youth prospect that actually amounted to his potential, I'd argue that Rooney is the real leading light in that department. While he might not have reached the dizzy heights I expected, he still has one of the most impressive goal tallies in Europes and plenty of trophies to boot.

Cole, Terry, Lampard, Hart, Rooney, Beckham, Scholes, Owen just to name a few more.

The TV fixtures are already out for that weekend and Utd aren't on. So it's definitely 3pm on the Saturday.

I highly doubt Mcnair would be played on the right in a back 4. I say bring Valencia on if we are going with a back 4. Realistically with the injuries and players we have available we all know LVG is gonna go with that 5 at the back formation.

Did you watch the second half of the last game?

The Yeovil one, no I didn't but I don't think he is going to field that same line up against southampton especially after last time mcnair faced them. He was terrible and s**ting himself every time he got the ball

Its de gea I'd be worried about, if madrid want him badly enough they'll get him.

I think it would be a bad move for his career. I feel we are on are way back to the top and he is playing a big part of it and if he stays with us throughout his career, there's no doubt that he will become a legend.

If he goes to Real Madrid, it shows that he is not loyal to the club that started his career: Athletico. And to me I don't see David as that type of person who would play for a rival club

Loyalty in football is very very rare....

I honestly don't think his athletico background will matter, I think he's destined to return to spain within the next 2 to 3 years. Barca obviously invested in a good young keeper last season, but I wouldn't rule them out of wanting to sign Spain's future no 1 too.

Once Madrid and barca come knocking on the door for most players, definitely those of Latin decent, there as good as gone.

Unfortuantly united will always be behind them in transfer market pecking order.

You might be Manutd 4 life....but you are a fan. He is a player and they have to think of their careers. Not playing in spain will hurt his chances of being Spain number 1. History has proven that. He'll also earn less money and wont live as nice a lifestyle.

These things are important and will factor into his decision.

Not worried about De Gea. With CL Football back and the continuation of spending meaning a significantly better team, United are going to be a team people want to play for.

United can match the wages on offer at Barca/Real and I dont think he will suffer from not being in Spain,he will be the next Spain No. 1 .He is by far their best keeper.

I can still see him moving but not for the first 2 reasons you mentioned above.

according to miguel delaney, Seamus Coleman is not on Uniteds radar & very little/nothing happening right now, BUT LVG wants a new center back and a defensive midfielder and will try to get players in if/where possible.

to be honest id be surprised if we signed anybody, but if Delaney is saying that LVG has plans to get these players in, then id believe it.

Renewed Gundogan links I see, I've heard he has been one of very few positives for Dortmund this season

Can play anywhere in a midfield 3, exactly what Van Gaal says he likes
