Transfer rumours be getting crazy. Messi apparently followed Chelsea on Instagram and doesn't show up for training the same day. My heart would die if Chelsea got Messi.

After we got Di Maria and Falcao in the same transfer window, anything is possible in this world

I'm a bit amazed a certain lad from Trinidad hasn't been picked in the draft thing yet, considering other players who have been picked ahead of him.

No £250 million bid for Messi...though Mike Phelan thinks Ronaldo could return sometime, unlikely in my opinion.

I think Ronaldo is set to stay in Madrid and only see him playing in a united jersey for like Rooney's testimonial game

That messi Chelsea bs rumor interested me, if they went for him what would it take, £70-80 million plus hazard?

Our local is giving away 5 free pints to everyone if Rory Gaffney, who signed for Cambridge over the winter, scores against United!

Didn't realise he was gone. That's Limerick FC screwed for next season then :pac:

I wouldn't mind seeing RVP and Mata leave in the Summer.

I really want a 433 and the only way to do that is to stick Falcao up top with 2 pacey wingers either side of him (DiMaria and Bale :) obviously) and have a midfield 3 behind him consisting of any 3 from Carrick Blind Herrera Rooney and any other quality midfielder bought in the summer.

Complete fantasy football stuff but even if we only bought defenders in the Summer we could still field:

    Carrick Rooney Herrera
    DiMaria Falcao Januzaj

Keeping Mata and RVP just makes us revert to this bloody 532 crap as much as having no fit defenders cause we need to fit them all in.

I really like both RVP and Mata but i'm seriously passed caring about individual players when all I want is to see a team that actually excites me again and doesn't leave me feeling like Bill Murray in groundhog day when he just gets so sick of it he decides to kill himself.

Rooney doesnt go in that midfield, blind fell and herrera do though.

Disagree that Rooney should be left out for Herrera or Fellaini. Agree that midfield is not great with Rooney in it but if he is gonna be in it I would rather he is further forward in almost his number 10 role. Let Herrera and Carrick be the real midfielders.

Fellaini should be sold in the Summer too. Luckily I reckon he has regained some respect and his value will be decent at around £15 million. He is better playing further forward and we don't need that.

He is better in the midfield than our other options if you are taking di maria out of the equation, carrick is great at his job but it isnt the same as fell and he is getting on. Herrera is the only one who competes with fellaini as a box to boox kinda player and fellainis physical presence is a huge advantage.

    Rooney is not a midfielder.

We should raid the fook out of Dortmund this Summer. Hummels and Reus are definitely in the shop window if Dortmund continue being bad. Wenger may be turfed out if Klopp leaves too. Thats a club I could see Klopp at. I wouldn't hate that either. Way Off topic.

Yeah but in a world where LVG has said he always plays his Captain then Rooney plays. My personal opinion is that Rooney is way too slow to play up front on his own. So is RVP. Neither of them can drop the shoulder and burst passed players anymore. Not sure Falcao can either but that's a different story.

So if Rooney has to play I would put him in the creative attacking midfield role. It's the role that has emerged for players who are neither one thing or the other.

Mata is a far better number 10 than Rooney but Rooney is the better all round attacker. If LVG kept his philosophy consistent then in the interest of balance Mata should be played there ahead of Rooney but as we've seen this season it seems like Van Gaal isn't sticking very close to his own guidelines but doing whatever necessary to get results

Two things I don't want to see unless we have no other option is the continuation of 352 and Rooney playing central midfield.

I don't know at this point what Van Gaal's plans are for the future, it probably won't be until next summer when we see the team he wants start to take shape

    Agreed and agreed.

I defo think Mata is in trouble in the Summer but will LVG have the balls to move RVP out? Or will RVP accept a bench role if the tactics change? Doubt it.
