Is it feasible to repair a halogen ring on a zanussi ceramic hob and if so roughly about how much am I looking at. The hob is about 7 years old and the rest of the rings are working perfectly.
    Cheers

ITS not a big job to replace a ring if its faulty, are you sure it is the ring it could also be a faulty simmerstat/reg. The cost will depend on whether you can do the repair yourself or you have to get a service engineer. when you turn the reg from off towards no1 position you should hear a click otherwise its the switch is faulty.

    Thanks for the reply Red.
The hob is a touch button one and the halogen ring only heats up on the outside now so I am assuming it the ring that's bollixed.
I have been looking on utube for ways to fix it but can't find any.:(. I can find how to build an atomic bomb or a space shuttle but not how to fix an appliance of science..

ok, remove the baseplate from the hob when you have it isolated ,with a visual inspection you may see the blown circuit, you will see it is easy enough to fit a new plate, you should be able to get one from exsparetise in tullamore
