    Hi keane82,
To get a €100 referral discount for Optilase you give a (past patient) referral name at the INITIAL consultation.
I'll send you a Private message with my name if you want to use that.

Otherwise I think you can get a Student discount but I'm not sure how much that discount is.

    no worries keaned82!

I was amazed too.. right after the surgery I walked onto the street and forgot to wear my sunglasses, I couldn't believe how clearly I could read the signs way off in the distance - then I panicked that I was damaging my lasered eyes so I stuck on my shades :)

I was surprised that I didn't have any great pain afterwards. The evening after surgery I took some panadol and went to bed, so maybe I slept through it.

Hope the recovery goes well for you now.

Anyone else need a referral just give me a shout,
    rok

Hi, just booked my consultation that's for next week. Was just wondering how long the wait is for most people between the consultation and the actual surgery.

And when do you pay? It's just that I have 4300 in the bank and the rest in cash. I've heard it can be around 4500 for the surgery but I might not have a chance to deposit my cash into the bank till a few days after my consultation.

    Hi Static_Jak,

I went for Consultation and then decided afterwards to go with Optilase, when I rang back to book the surgery they requested I pay a deposit, I think it was €200 (don't know if this is non refundable if you change your mind?), I paid the remaining balance on the day of Surgery itself.

The Cost of surgery varies from person to person, I think this is due to each individual's different eye prescription + cornea thickness and how long the Laser equipment is used for - maybe someone else can confirm this?

From reading posts here I think the wait for Surgery can vary for each person due to:
whether they wear contacts and need to remove them from their eyes for a few weeks before surgery,
    availability of the Surgeon,
their own calendar of events - I had my surgery on a Thursday and was worried I wouldn't be recovered to enjoy a Wedding a full week later but in the end twas fine.

If you're interested in the €100 Referral discount I've sent you a PM, no worries if not or if it's too late to apply.

Thanks rok, that helps a lot. The deposit and full payment on the day of surgery makes it a lot easier for me.

I don't use contacts or have any issues so it should be straight forward enough. I don't mind if the surgery date is a while from now. I'll need to get it done in Cork since getting to Dublin is pretty difficult for me right now.

I'll be having the consultation in Limerick. But I'll bring all this up in the consultation anyway.

I've actually got a referal from a friend of a friend who got it done a year ago. But thanks for the offer.

Depends on how long ago you had consultation, supposed to give them at consultation, I'll PM you referral details, no harm in ringing them and asking
