3 on the way in, 2 W6 320's and a private Embraer Phenom, this could get interesting.

Honestly I cannot understand how you could listen to that. I can barley understand the fellas at Shannon on the radio, imagine someone with a foreign accent.

PD539 down safely, right engine out - smoke filled cabin. Hearing an evac also on the ground.

Just got word that a Virgin 747 (Vs43) is lapping low and slow south of Gatwick. Media reports say it has dumped fuel. Currently at 2275ft @ 180kts. From looking at FR, it seems to have been doing this for a while now.

My god, 2275 ft is low! If I was on the ground id be scared to see such a giant so low, imagine if you were on the plane!

It looks like they did a few circles in the Bristol Channel (fuel dump?), had a go back in to Gatwick, went around, and is holding since. Not squawking 7700 or anything though, if only we could listen to ATC!

Is that Virgin a long time up not to be attempting a landing?

Had a similar experience of having to return to Dublin a few years ago after take off with locked landing gear but thankfully all was OK.
