I heard that it was all an MCQ but looking at previous papers i can only see written questions, i was wondering is it an MCQ or not?

I didn't do it but I'm pretty sure last year's Christmas exam for Undenominated Science was a negative-marking MCQ.

When I was in first year (2012) it was a negatively marked MCQ. I don't think it's changed?

Yes, they probably gave you a sample paper on blackboard. As it's an MCQ they don't release the paper after the exam. Hope it went well for you! I did it two years ago (2012), which was the first year they had the Semester I MCQ and it wasn't too bad at all. :)
