    Hi,
Have a stove, and after cleaning it out, there is always some cold ash left around the base. I have tried using a hand-held cordless JCB vacuum cleaner but the ash clogs it up in no time and I spend more time unclogging the filter than cleaning.

Is there any cordless hand-held vacuum that would clean up the cold ash for me and not require excessive cleaning? or any better solutions?

    Dustpan and brush....works every time.

Don't know if there is such a thing but don't waste your money on any vacuum for ashes. Even the purpose built vacuums don't work. I bought one a few years back and used it twice. Spent more time cleaning the filter half way through than I would have just using a dust pan and brush. As monkeynuz has said, stick with the dust pan and brush. It's quicker and easier.

Get a dustpan and a brush and sweep it up.Then use the ash and mix it in with your soil for your plants and flowes.
Old gardeners trick which makes for fantastic growing medium.

Only wood ash though , coal or solid fuel will be poisonous to plants.

Sorry should have said wood ash in my post. Some of the wood ash mixed in with some leaf mold and some dried seaweed and it gives fantastic growing medium.
