Tore as thigh muscle - seat too low?

Playing soccer a couple of months ago and heard my thigh muscle ripping. Slow to heal, and general pain coming from hip down to thigh muscles. Physio said everything could have been caused by a year of cycling with the seat slightly too low, maybe even 1cm. I only cycle in and out of work, say 30 mins each way. He said not extending the leg all the way to 15 degrees meant the muscle slowly contracting until everything started to seize up. That's what caused it to rip.

Does this make sense? Would 1cm make a difference? How am I supposed to know my seat is 1cm, or even 1 inch too low?

Get a professional bike fitting, will pay for itself if it saves you from visiting the physio.

A professional bike fit is not necessarily the right thing for someone with an underlying medical issue. There are plenty of people claiming to be bike fitters many of whom probably are relying on the textboook with (unlike professional physios) little understanding of medical complaints such as this

OP, yes 1cm can make a difference to a lot of people. Your physio should know what they are talking about and you should take their advice

Do not provide any "advice" not to visit a professional medical expert when there is clearly an underlying medical issue

Thanks all. Physio said to keep stretching it out myself for the moment and see how it goes, but look at raising the saddle as well. Off to find a spanner:D
