Why does this country feel the need to protect publicans? Some old romantic notion of the good old days no doubt

There is nothing wrong with the base idea, 12 pubs (although too much for most people) should actually be a nice gentle day that takes you around the pubs.

however, like in many cases, people feel to need to 'add' to the 'fun' by insisting that arbitrary rules, that they deem funny, should be followed religiously and with fear of punishment if you don't go along with their version of fun based on a clear set of rules steadfastly adhered too.

And someone wants to charge you €100 to organise this? How about save the €100, get a few of your mates and start with an early house, nice pint, big fry up and take it from there.

I presume it's the total price of the pints, taxi home etc.

Your problem there is paying to use the jacks, there are many free ones. Look around.

50 of us did it in Cork last weekend

    Brilliantly organised

30 mins per pub, bell rings after 25 mins, 1 drink per pub, after 30 mins outside for photo then move on

Simples when done right and you have good organiser

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 19,889 ✭✭✭✭The Moldy Gowl

Organised fun can **** right off.
I can buy 12 cans and look at boobs on the internet any day of the week.

Aren't you the dandy fun merchant with your bells, alarms and fun selfies to manage the fun along during your fun drinking session. Fun fun fun.

"Simples" makes me hope you to get a sh1t on a stick for Xmas this year.

Sure isn't the twelve pubs a Christmas tradition.

Apparently it's origins stem from the three wise men who stumbled into the stable mistaking it for the next inn. That explains the terrible inappropriate new-born gifts they had in their possession.

To be fair they weren't all rubbish gifts. Gold was fine Frankinsence and the last one were meh.

I have done the 12 pubs with 30 others for the past few years.
It's a great day and night :-) 30 mins per pub, starts at 2pm. Last few pubs take a little longer than 30 mins...or maybe we are too drunk and think so!!
    Takes longer to recover now!!

What if I drink my pint in less than half an hour?

We did it last week in Cork. All of us dressed as reindeers except the tall guy of the group dressed as Santa claus. Great fun
I've never taken so many pictures with strangers!
