I'm going to contact my solicitor to have all the people who slagged off the third film retract their statements.

Yes, but I'm hoping Cameron would make something to make up for them and finish the franchise in a way that everyone could just disregard the other ones after t2

Cameron seems more concerned with his Avatar sequels and rightly so given the fact that Terminator's been run through the muck. I remember seeing T2 as a kid and praying that they'd make one set in the future. Then I saw Salvation. Say what you will about T3 but Salvation killed the franchise for many.

Our only hope is that like Prometheus, the original directors come back and do something different.

Cameron's done with it IIRC. I don't blame him, especially after that godawful TV show.

Prometheus was not just a terrible Alien sequel/prequel... whatever you wan't to call it, it was a complete failure of a film in every single aspect. I'm surprised with the negative reaction the trailer is getting, I think it looks well, certainly not what I was expecting, they seem to be at least trying something different jumping back and forth between timelines, rather than a simple linear trip back to one particular year... for those that may have missed it there's more than one time machine on show in the trailer. I think this may yet surprise.

Salvation wasn't perfect but I definitely preferred it to T3. Had a feeling a sequel or series of films in that vain could have ironed out some rough edges and been worth seeing. A missed opportunity maybe, but at least they tried.

Sarah Conner Chronicles had some dodgy, cheesy, terrible at times acting, but was actually fairly decent otherwise. If you gave up after a couple of episodes you should give it another go.

Yeah, it's one of those shows I was gutted ended abruptly. I thought it was good - the relationship between John and Summer Glau's Terminator was just starting to become truly intriguing and explore things that the franchise hasn't gone into before. It was cheesy, but it was a good show if you're a Terminator fan.

Can someone please point out what's parts they found cheesy in Sarah Conner Chronicles. I thought it was a great show and Bear Mcreary's score for the series is as much a part of the Terminator lexicon for me as Brad Friedals iconic theme.

Mostly the acting. Cheesy, or hammy maybe. Particularly the T-800. Some of the "sexy terminator" stuff with Summer Glau. And John Conner emo'ing around the place.

Had the feeling that the actors weren't particularly comfortable in their roles. And the writers took a while to properly find a groove, which didn't help.

Despite all that it was still a good show. A good example of the storytelling that's possible within that universe, and jaysus another season or two could have been great. Have an urge to rewatch it now actually!

I'll admit it's probably been a year or more since I've watched it but the only sexy terminator stuff I remember came late in its run and was intentionally disturbing and not intended for cheap titillation. As for Dekkers John being Emo I'd imagine he was just aligning himself with Edward Furlongs portrayal who wrote the book on Emo acting.

If 1984 Arnie is destroyed on arrival then Cyberdyne never find the cpu and thus never create Terminators. This particular plot hole popped into my head at 3am this morning.

I didn't mind the first season too much. It compelled me to watch the second season where everything just fell apart. I don't remember too much but there was Kyle's brother coming back, some horrific CG, something about symbols and a supercomputer using Cromartie's body (John Henry?) and a scottish T-1000. The love arc between John and Cameron was just that little bit too daft.

Terminators get created anyway, Judgement Day is inevitable according to the T800.

One of the worst laziest aspects of T3.

The way it's going with all the plot holes the f*cking earth could blow up and the Terminators would still be created.....on the moon! Urgh

A lot of hate here, I think the trailer looks good, I like the idea of revisiting the 80s, i like that the future weapons look like they might belong in the future we saw in T1, I like they found away to explain the aged Arnie. Clarke really looks the part and sounds like Linda Hamilton. The only bit I font like is Jai Courtney playing Reese, far too action man to be playing him, he looks completely wrong IMO.

Now the film could be complete generic crap but as long as it does the majority of things right then it should be good.

Ha, I read this as "Jason Clarke". Got confused for a brief moment!

Jai Courtney would be better suited as a generic solder, or a Terminator. He's just not Kyle Reese. Is Michael Biehn definitely off the table?

Just watched the trailer today and tbh I do not know what to think but I feel the casting for this movie is just wrong.

Emilia Clarke looks out of place as Sarah Connor and imo she seems to be overacting her part especially in the trailer when she tells Kyle to "move it soldier".

I think Jai Courtney is a poor choice for Kyle Reese also and the asian guy playing the part of the liquid metal terminator looks nowhere near as intimidating as Robert Patrick's T-1000.

Going on this trailer alone I think the movie will be a disappointment, I hope I'm wrong but at the moment I am just not all that excited about seeing it.

Remember Bruce Locke as Shang Tsung in Mortal Kombat Conquest? He sure was intimidating!

To keep in line with the inauthentic castings I'd say Dan Stevens could've been a better choice to play a T1000. Played the role of a psychopath pretty well in The Guest which I think would translate to playing a ruthless robot well.

Cain Velasquez, UFC heavyweight champion, would have made an awesome terminator, well a t-800. He has the look, size, and the cold dead eyes of a stone cold killer.

This is obviously going to be a steaming pile.

I'm just waiting for Terminator 27; Ed Furlong sits smoking cigarettes, eating cheese burgers, all the while directing the war with the machines from his command post.
    Budget: $450 million dollars.

New Kyle Reese doesn't look anything what you would expect. He looks like a male model, not a battle hardened combat veteran like Michael Biehn portrayed.

Of course i've already heard the criticisms of Emily Clarke as Sarah Connor. So I'm sure, i'm not the only one criticizing the casting decisions.

What you described makes me think of some fat nerd sitting in his mothers basement playing World of Warcraft.

I think Stone Cold Steve Austin would make a terrific Terminator, Size, Build, and Eyes that would bore a hole straight through ya.

As a big fan of The Terminator movies, this just nearly drove me deranged. The part where he jumps from the helicopter, wearing Pat Kenny's wig just did it for me.
