What shirt/tie/shoes/belt?

Hey guys, Impulse bought this suit while in America last week. It's hard to see from the pic but it's dark wine and black chequered. What colour shirt, tie, shoes etc would look good with it? Cheers.

Yikes. You've set yourself a challenge alright.

Well, if it was a navy check then I would say a white shirt and navy tie; however being a black check sort of restricts you a little bit with what you can wear with it. Definitely a light, plain shirt - white or very light blue. To lessen the impact you could potentially pair the jacket with a pair of light grey trousers, rather than the suit trousers.

Maybe a grey wool tie?

It looks very bright in the picture, it's a lot darker in person. Was actually thinking of the grey trouser idea myself. I'll mess around with my other suit trousers to get an idea anyway. Thanks.
