    Hello all,

I've searched the various forums without success but apologies if I have missed an obvious link.

Basically, I hold shares in share cert form in a Uk bank and I want to sell them.

I'm looking for a broker to handle a one off execution only sale, but every suggestion I find seems to say I need to get an online a/c, transfer the cert to an online holding etc and go the long way around it.

The value of the shares is small, probably c. €1k in total, having collapsed during the financial crisis, so it seems a lot of work for one small transaction. I also want to get it done before year end because I want to post the value loss so I can set it off against other CGT payments - (as limited a benefit as that will be).

Is there any broker recommended in the Galway area where I can just pop in with the cert and ID and get it sorted on an execution only basis?

My own Bank does not provide the service anymore and I don't want to open a Bank A/c with someone else just for this purpose either.

    Thanks in advance.

    Rob

Davys have a branch down the docks. Might be worth giving them a call.
