39 scored with Herrera to play Monday

20 with a few to go. 20-28 pointers in all my private leagues so not too annoyed.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,626 ✭✭✭✭Rikand

My 33 points sees me rise from 4900 to 2800. Happy days!

Probably drop back a bit tomorrow, but still grand :)

32 points has brought me into the top 300

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,274 ✭✭✭✭FHFC

17 is ranked nearly 2.4m for the GW but only drops me back about 1.6k to 6,900.

Need my four remaining players to deliver something though!

As for today, Eriksens blank and a rare yellow card to boot was probably the most disappointing thing for me.

Tidy little jump from 39k to 33k.
A CS from Guzan & Hutton should see another little rise.
Have Siggy to but can't see that affecting much due to his ownership.

Yaya saved the day. 10 of my 30 (-4) points.

24 Pts I dunno disappointed but Aguero's injury and Costa's lack of form is making the whole thing very interesting. Have Fab, Chambers and Kun. Was nice and cosy in my personal leagues but like Chelsea I was maybe a bit complacent thinking it was all over with 23 games left.

    33 with Siggy to play.

I know it's not particulalry bad yet... but considering Eriksen did nothing (another immediate transfer disappointement -- hopefully that'll change), considering I've now no GKs left, considering it's another epic captain fail... well I have actually no idea how to feel just yet. Went up 50k positions but I know the effects of a single pt on the rankings so will wait for Monday night to "celebrate" or not...
Seems I carried everyone with me under my fantasy curse though (*) :pac:... Major surgery needed for most.

Must give credit to Busts for encouraging me to play Wisdom and not to take a hit for a Chelsea def in place of Baines.

(*) The word seems really appropriate in fairness. I mean
    1. what were the odds for Krul AND Elliott to get injured almost simultaneously and let me GK less?

    2. I finally got a captain right last week (granted everyone did) and he broke himself today giving me my 4th 1 pt captain of the season  (I also got 4 2 pts captains ; basically more than half my GWs I played captain-less :( and I never went for a fancy choice - always in the FFS captain poll top3).

Actually the positive in all that is being at 114k tonight sounds almost like an achievement taking all this misfortune into account :pac:.

    --- edit ---

Ameobi first sub with 6 pts is annoying... but in fairness I had no one to bench for him to start ; he was my secret weapon last week and didn't deliver when I wanted him to (unlike super Georgie Boyd for many boardsies). Hopefully his recent good form will ensure him a starting position which could come in handy during Christmas .

28 with Guzan, Hutton, Downing and Bony to run. yaya saves the gameweek. good night!

After watching the game I think he is one of those hit and miss players, leaning much more to the miss variety to be honest! But I hope u can quote me in the future bragging about a big points haul of his!

Incidentally my 24 points brought me 20 places up to 300:D

Only Clyne and Siggy left, though. Will probably end up in the 400 territory.

Looking at your team you arent in that bad a place. My advice to you would be to take an 8 pt when we get news on aguero and sort your few issues out. Id advise elliot to pantimilon wilson to chelsea defender and aguero to striker of your choice. Most people will be taking hits next week or alternatively fielding weak teams so its a good week to do it. For -8 you could have
    Pantimillon
    Che def Taylor wisdom Baines
    siggy sanchez hazard eriksen
Costa with any striker you want.

Pantimilon has great fixtures till new years day and then on new years day krul should be back so instead of panti at city you have krul at home to burnley. Next 5 gws for keepers Wham H new A Hull H Villl A Burnley H.
You will then have austin back for next week and depending on which striker you get in the money to upgrade ameobi to give you 8 strong options for Xmas. Your just on a bad run things will change and I would suggest already have as a lot of players will be in a worse position than you after yesterdays events. You should get above average this week and you can now get yourself in a very good position going forward.
I was 330k this time last year and finished 10k.BELIEVE.

Anyone know why Craig Dawson didn't play yesterday (wba)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,589 ✭✭✭✭Necronomicon

Amazingly my 29 (-4) brings me up almost 1,500 places to just outside 11k.

But now I'm in the crap position of having no players playing today, so a drop is inevitable. Just hoping for the games today to follow yesterday's car crash tone, and then Forster and Rooney to do something between them tomorrow.

I was looking over my own posts in the gameweek 15 thread from last year, I was outside 200k and finished up at 11k, It seems to me that we're doing a lot better this year in general (FSA). All going well (that means nothing big for Siggy or other high ownership players) I could be around 5k at the end of this week. I'm beginning to wonder how high I could go now, if I was to finish like I did last year the sky's the limit but it gets tougher to keep the green arrows coming particularly with my paltry team value. I've avoided most of the big risers which hasn't affected my score but has kept my value very low.

Was kind of hoping that I'd wake up this morning from 12 pubs and that the sendings off and injuries were just a nightmare. Alas, they weren't and now I have 5 players out next week... my only saving grace is having 2 FTs.

Incidentally, I said I hoped to break the top 100k this week and I have... 26 points sees me in 90,768th place with Fabianski, Downing and Cresswell to play. Obviously hoping for the Cresswell assist to a Downing goal with Fabianksi saving a penalty or two.

    Not too much to ask.

18 points no hits. Drop of 2k to 10k. Just siggy and Hutton left.

12 points on the bench from yun and wisdom is grating but even more so as but for a last minute transfer to get in Hutton I'd played one of them and had 2 free transfers to help deal with the

    Fab/aguero/chambers/krul/Elliot situtayion

Alot of the sunday papers reporting that Kun could miss the Roma CL game. Was expecting him to be ruled out for weeks/months.

Is this a good sign or idle speculation?

While watching MOTD I observed that Super Georgie Boyd was everywhere yesterday, involved in everything Burnley did going forward. Had a number of chances for goals and assists

17 from 7 including captain Aguero yesterday. Everything that could go wrong, did! Fell 1.1k to 4k. Guzan, Mata, Siggy and Tadic to play.

There's no way I'm transferring Austin out when I can just play SGB instead!

With four to play it sounds like you had one of the better days.

Idle Speculation. By Tuesday he will have had a scan and the initial prognosis/length of time out will be known. Unfortunately even 3 weeks out means plenty of missed games at this time of year

Ameobi is just there because he enabled me to afford Hazard last week and I didn't want to rush out a def since I had not thought about a replacement (would have been Wilson out).
I fully agree with you about his hit & miss type but was hoping it could work for me. It hasn't yet. But I'd be more than happy if he was just keeping on his current form since he could rise another £0.1m and I'd be able to bank £0.1m profit from him (still very far from that but for £4.5m "casuals" may still fancy him).

Cheers mate. Should take you as a personal coach :D.

Despite my late "moaning" on the forum about my misfortune I can firmly say I still believe I can turn things round (would have given up otherwise). I said it already but it's a real challenging situation. Just my room for errors is reduced now. Only thing is I should stop looking at this FPL Statistico site which depresses me by showing all the points left out from my captain choices (and all the ones my VC would have collected).

That is great advice you gave me here . Pantilimon is on serious form and yeah his fixtures are nice till the New Year and he rotates perfectly with Krul (even though I don't think I'll keep this rotation going long term -- too many away CS for both: 2 out of 5 for Krul, 2 out of 3 for Panti). Apart form the rotation risk a Chelsea def seems to offer more value than Courtois. And well if Aguero is out for several weeks, I can afford anyone bar RVP whom I'm not sure is worth it...
Transfer wise I also had Hutton in mind looking forward to Aston Villa good run (though this good run started 2 GWs ago). He's great value at £4.2m but not sure he's worth a 4 pts hit looking at my potential defence once a Chelsea def will have replaced Wilson.

Thing is when you're up there it's actually hard to make or lose big ground (unless you take several big risks) since you probably have a tendency to play it safe. Everyone would have the same core of players so you "just" have to pick the best differentials.
While watching MOTD I observed that Super Georgie Boyd was everywhere yesterday, involved in everything Burnley did going forward. Had a number of chances for goals and assists
His Christmas fixtures are tough enough but he could well be my season 5th midfielder from the Jan WC omwards.

I would often disagree with who is considered essential so it's rare enough I'd have a template team. Last year I finished in the top 100 worldwide for the fourth quarter, obviously that won't happen this year but I am hopeful of getting another strong finish, top 1000 finish would be amazing but as with all of us addicts I'd still be rueing all the points I left behind.

Anyway starting with the next game I need a two pointer from Siggy and no clean sheets to keep my top 5k at the end of this week dream alive. Double digits for Siggy will knock me back considerably.
